  • Eric Brosius can play some mean guitar.

  • I keep on coming back for more TRIBE. AHEAD OF THEIR TIME.

  • Comment removed

  • wow, memories, dancing, Comm ave, Landsdown St, sorry bad spelling, Wollaston Beach

  • GREAT memories, commonwealth ave, thanks for the good memories and yes they were VERY good

  • beantown

  • Does anyone know if Terri Brosius (at least) will have an appearance in Thief IV?

  • I swear I remember this song from my childhood which is strange since I lived in England and the band was basically unheard of there

  • Great band and song. However, for those of you craving the more raw and pure recording pick up "Here at the Home" on the Rutabaga label run by Danny Bennett, yes, Tony's blood who used to manage the band too. On that CD you'll find the original demo versions of "Abort" and other gems. They were great live!!! I remember a night at Bunratty's in Allston when they performed encores of "Jak" by Volcano Suns and "Downtown" by Petula Clark and ripped the joint to shreds. It rocked!

  • @berky1 the "here at the home" cd was *awesome*. i always thought these songs were meant to sound the way they do there, moody and dark. went to the "abort" release party, i think it was at avalon, but never really warmed to those versions. great show, though, and yes i do remember them encoring with "downtown". btw the "here at the home" songs were available for download on the web last time i checked, though i'd have to look up the site. the mp3s are on my laptop of course. :)

  • @misslauren66 I broke that cassette "here at the home " . Abort just didnt have the same drive. Damn shame. They over produced the songs while trying to go mainstream/national. I saw them twice in Boston. I will look into getting the "here at the home " versions . I think the cassette is no longer in circulation.

  • skvelá skupina, skvelá pieseň! dakujeeem!

  • More interesting that Eric Brosius was composer for all the soundtracks in the Thief Series.

  • @Samael16661 And not just Eric--he, Terri Brosius, and Greg LoPiccolo, were a part of Looking Glass Studios, and worked on the music/sounds for a number of games. Hell, Terri was the voice of SHODAN in the System Shock series.

  • @Earo16 I think Greg LoPiccolo made the soundtrack for System Shock 1 too. And Terris voice acting is of course groundbreaking, just take a look how much Portals GlaDOS got inspired by SHODAN

  • ONE of my favorite bands thank you for making me remember !!!!! i wish the reunite excellent band !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks for this, keeroy - i was looking for it for quite a few years

  • I love this band. Always made me think of Curve. I think I still have this album.. on TAPE.

  • hehe shodan is in this band and the guy that is audio director 4 rockband and guitarhero and system shock2

  • Really? That's wild.

  • their music is truly hard to find, i can't find anything from them anywhere...

  • You can get "Sleeper" on the cheap from either Amazon or Ebay. "Abort" is almost as easy, but even at the cheapest it's expensive for a CD (15-20 is lowest I've seen, and I can't find one below $25 on Ebay).

"Here at the Home" ranges from $60-170. I.E. beyond reasonable. Which sucks, because some of the "Here at the Home" cuts are better than their counterparts on "Abort"-- I'm in particular thinking of "Outside".

  • @Sauron338 personally i prefer the older versions of all of them. you are so right to single out "outside". the original version just builds and builds and finally explodes with energy. and "here at the home" (the song) always seems like it should have that menacing undercurrent.

  • In Your Ear on Comm Ave in Boston sometimes has the vinyl. Actually, they have a lot of '80's era Boston bands on vinyl.

  • I had this album when it came out. It didn't go very far from my car stereo I loved it and lost it to an old girlfriend GUTTED. Abort was full off cracking tracks this and Galactic cowboys were all i played for months. Thanks for the post share the wealth.

  • Never heard of this band, but I'm totally digging their shit. Thanks for posting it man.

  • These CD's are hard to find on amazon and iTunes. Too bad they deserve recognition for some very good music. They ned their songs used in some hipster show, that's great exposure.

  • Or a hipster game, Oh wait... Rock band

  • sirdew.. just cause you don't like the song doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it.

  • How can anyone say that this is a bad song? This is one of my favorite songs by Tribe and although I prefer the Her At Home version, it makes sense that they made it more up beat, since it really is an up beat song lyric wise.

  • I was only familiar with the version from Here at the Home, and this was my first time hearing the Abort version.

    I like it better.

  • are you some kind of brain damaged (and antisemitic too) lunatic or what? stop bitching around, take your sleeper and piss off. my taste is non of your business, you infantile. and note - your next comments will be deleted.

  • as i´ve already written you, abort is the only album i´m disposing of. comprende? :)

  • worst? well, do you suppose the songs of this jennifer lopez chic are better? :)

i don't have sleeper. the only album i have is abort. it is pretty hard to get their music when you live in europe. here they are totally unknown.

  • If you like Tribe you will like the live video's of Tribe I found and uploaded. See Tribe at Avalon.Hope you like. I loved seeing this band any time I could.

  • never had the chance to see them in france !

still love that band ! great tunes !

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! i love Janet and still do.. and remeber when she worked at Harvard Bookstore cafe,as a waitress. 1990's i lived on Newbury st. at the time and got the privalege to see her at Venus De milo on landsdown..,I to this day.... have NEVER been blown away like she did that night. not many can match her vocal abilites. For those of us that Know... i am NOT overduing it. . Her presence, Live... just blew doors. It stunned us all.

  • where are they, my hope for real music...great band, wish they were still around, sexy, soulful, heavy music...with meaning and kickass too...

  • Janet Lavally best vocalist 3 years streight (boston phoenix). She was one of the sexyest front women ever. Base player Greg Lopiccalo went on to help creat one of the best selling video games GUITAR HERO.I miss this band the most .They had great music and did covers that were classic . Tribe was the most underated band ever. Ever.

  • I found it!

Anyway I saw Tribe when I was going to Boston University in 1989..maybe I saw them in 90 though. They were great! I saw them at the BU student union, (George Sherman Union, GSU).

  • well, now i´m growing really envy when reading this... :)))

  • can you post "Rescue Me" ?

  • already happened ;). the song is online from yesterday. just watch my new videos.

  • Didn't Eric Brosius make music on a game called system shock 2?

  • yes, hi did. also from system shock I and the recent bioshock.

  • He did the music for Thief series aswell.

    Best games ever.

  • Eric and Greg were involved in the SS1 soundtrack, if I recall correctly.

  • Greg lopiccolo just moved across the street from me!!!

  • Awesome music!

  • dude my last name is lopiccolo that is such a uncommon name

  • Great band, I have the CD and was serching for 'Abort', I wish.

  • greg lopiccolo invented guitar hero

  • This music is soooo 90s but it's damn good

  • This was such a disappointment to me when it appeared as a follow-up to the indie Here At The Home CD, which is one of my favorite albums of all time. Eight of the songs from the Here At The Home album re-appear on this, each in an inferior version calculated to appeal to the least common denominator of the alternative crowd. What a waste of great talent.

  • They were on Letterman too, I think. I'd love to see that video.

  • I have the video and I'll upload it as soon as I can.

  • Wasn't Terri Brosius the voice of Viktoria from Thief 1 and 2?

  • yes, she was... ;) one of the most attractive female voices ever :)

  • Hell yeh!!

  • best unrecognized band from Boston...

  • Abort was my favorite album in '92. It was '92, right? Well, it was an amazing album, and it's a damn shame they only lasted two official albums.

  • As always..........miss you guys terribly!
