  • Like because you loved Persona 4 just like me! :D

  • I got this the other day and I can't put it down

  • strongly disagree that the original and fes versions of p3 were too difficult or even unfair, but I will admit it's a nice change to have the option to control the other party members. Absolutely love the persona series

  • Is it worth it to pick this up if I haven't played any other Persona games before? Or is there some story knowledge required? I don't want to get completely lost in the plot.

  • @Skarlos131 Get it!

P3P is my favorite version of the game, too bad it is missing the "sequel/add-on" called FES.

All the Persona games are like Final Fantasy, all a differetn story and characters. Buy it NAO!

  • now im not sure if i heard this correctly but did i hear the word ROMANCE? Such an odd concept...

  • nice review,i baught persona 4 whem it came out, loved it but too hard back them for me,now i'm 15 and i am gonna pick this one up,one of the best games i have ever played, new games just don't have the 'spirit' annymore i think, just loved a few of my ps2 games, but great review, you live in belgium or the nederlands by anny chanche?

  • can i play this game if i am using psp-3000? with version kxploit? ...plssss help cuz i can't start the game and i think the version is wrong..if i change the version into Gen-D5.03 my psp will brick...

  • ive only played p3p, should i buy a ps2 to play p4 or wait for p5?

  • @vivaluis59 I definitely recommend to pick up a PS2. There are so many wonderful games for it and you can play PS1 games on it as well.

  • @Aerodynamisch That's exactly why Sony should add PS2 software emulation on the PS3.

  • @themax37 initially they built an entire friggin ps2 into the PS3, but it was far too expensive and produced too much heat causing the console to YLOD. They also tried software emulation but it was difficult to make Every PS2 game play properly, and software emulation wasn't as good as the actual PS2, and the software was getting bothersome to maintain so they just scrapped it so the PS3 could be cheaper for us and be more reliable, more or less.

  • @themax37 Though it's easy to walk into a store and pick up a PS2 for fifty bucks.

  • @darkfire6991 I have a ps3 and a 360. I like don't want to clutter the area. I have a ps2 in storage.

  • Without the AI-controlled characters this game is a joke .___.U

  • Great review, I plan to buy this game next for my PSP(if I can find a NA version of the game).

  • I hope there will be a p4 portable as well.

  • I just bought this game recently, and it is the single best game I've played for the PSP. I'm only about as far as you are, I think though. Either way, it is amazing.

And you did a great job reviewing it, too!

  • can u awnser this plz if some1 can could i play the ntsc version on my pal psp 3000

  • @maxflex852 UMD's are region free and all PSP consoles are. I live in the UK and ordered mine last thursday.. can't wait :D

  • persona 4 on ps2 is way more easier than persona 3 :D

  • hey its neku!!!

  • great game. games like these are saving our beloved rpg's :D

  • Very informative video. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to pick up this game, and I think you've helped me make my choice.

  • @TheEbuyal Teenagers shooting a "gun" to their head and suggestive "sexual" enemies,

  • they make games so easy nowadays

  • @JerichoX13 Hard choice. I would suggest starting with Persona 3 Portable and then moving on to Persona 4. P3P is a bit less difficult than P4.

  • great review man keep it up (i am downloading the game from psn) 2 mins left till completion lol. this should be my first encounter with the sery

  • 6:23 - Did Aigis just take a blow for the FeMC? Cool! They imported the cover feature from Persona 4!

  • great review

  • Thanks!

  • This game looks so much fun. Is it worth to get it now when its 40 bucks or sound I wait?

  • Depends on how much you want to play it of course..... I definitely recommend the 40 bucks, it is totally worth it.

  • I agree with you i believe that its a more improved version of P3 and more enjoyable.

  • Good to hear! With P3FES I got annoyed in the first hours when I lost a lot of progress by wiping out, the experience in P3P is much more enjoyable.

  • Hmm.. maybe you shouldn't judge it off of Persona 4, since this is a remake of Persona 3. It's not supposed to be like P4. It has elements of it, but it's not fair to judge it off of P4.

  • Perhaps not, but I played P4 first, it was my first experience with the Persona and SMT series.

Although seeing how they released this P3P after P4, I think several gameplay aspects should be able to be compared.

  • i playing using the male character for about 18 hours already. I have questions, first how long does it take for me to finish this game( i dont like to rush) and second, can i play new game+ using female instead of male, also if i can, do i still keep the male lvl to the female one

  • The game takes around 70 - 90 hours, depending how fast you finish it.

I am unsure if you can continue as a female, I am pretty sure you cant, since you keep your progress with the social links and those change when you are a female.

  • This review just confirmed that i will buy p3p, as for persona for the psp its okay but i had a tough time getting into it because i was expecting it to be like persona 4 and 3

  • Great to hear that, I really enjoy my time with the game and if the normal difficulty is still to difficult, you can always choose a lower difficulty (although you gotta start over again though)

  • oh men i missed that opening theme song, it's from FFX besaid island theme right. missed ffx so much..

    well nice p3p review dude

  • Thanks!

Yea, that is Besaid Island. Probably one of my, if not my favorite game song. FFX was such a great game and I remember walking around Besaid Island listening to this song.

  • i have p3 FES and p4. which should i play first?

  • If you wont buy P3 Portable, be sure to play P3 FES first. Because P4 has made the overall gameplay system a bit better so going from 4 to 3 FES is too annoying/difficult and I could not do it.

If you think you will eventually get P3P, play P4 first then go to P3P.

  • first i just wanna say again I love the energy you show esp at the beginning of the review when you say welcome back everybody.. So much energy. Usually i can tell if you liked or hated a game by the tone of your voice after the intro hahaa. Second Great review of a series I really loved. I have not got a PSP(just couldn't do it) and so I didn't get to try this one but I was curious thanks for sharing!

  • Haha, I never noticed that. Although if I think about it, I usually record several reviews at once, mostly unscripted and improvised. It so happens that this once was recorded first so I got a lot of energy left. I noticed that with some of the Favorite Games episodes where I am too tired later on.

The Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker was recorded after this one so I wonder if that one has less energy. But yea, the more I like the game, the more fun it is to talk about.

  • Oh yea, regarding the game, yea the PSP is definitely not the strongest handheld. I bought mine before I had a DS and to be honest I had hardly played a lot of real games on the PSP. The fact that I have a modded one with emulators as well makes it more easy.

However the line of games on the PSP for now is very strong. MGS Peace Walker, Lunar Remake, Persona 3, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, new God of War.. Hopefully there will be some more good games...

  • I just like your reviews. They are very good.

I too wanted to get Persona 3 on PS2 but hearing you how it is diffcult,I think that I will just go with Persona 4.Maybe I will also get this one on PSP,I will think about it.

By the way,to bad that Netherlands didn't win WC.I wished that they did. I mean they were really good on it.Spain was also good, but you get the point. And so many yellow cards. Come on,like Spain wasn't aggresive themselfs.

  • Thanks!

So far both are very similar (P4 and P3P) and very enjoyable. I would recommend P4 first though. So far the better story and more enjoyable social link system (interaction during school days).

Yeah, too bad about The Netherlands. After the first minute and seeing that referee and the harsh play I knew it wouldnt end well. We had our chances though... that Robben... But yea, Puyol deserved a Red Card after taking Robben down... That would have changed the entire match and extra time...

  • @Aerodynamisch Thanks for recommendation. I am always looking foward for a new JRPG.

Yeah, if Puyol also got that red card,Spain would also have one player less and it could easly change the whole game.

I hope that in next competitions, like European Championship, tides will turn.

  • @Aerodynamisch nice review, i've never tried these games before, will check it out when i have the time. Talking about the WC , Nigel de Jong definately should have got a red card for kicking Alonso in the chest, instead of yellow.

  • Should have been red definitely...same can be said about Spain.

Oh well, I am interested to see how FIFA is going to respond to this awful corruption...

  • Currently playing PS3 FES and agreed about not being able to control the characters. I will have characters use a magic on an enemy that heals it or their attack will be blocked yet they keep attacking. I also think that the story could've been fleshed out more being it is days pass bye, you do this that, go to Tarturus than on midnight you fight a boss there is no build up. However I am early in. Ordered the original PS3 and going to buy this when I finish both. Nice review!

  • Thanks! Yea, not being able to control the characters is a big pain in the ass.

The story isnt changed though, you still have to go through the game day by day, and choosing what you want to do.

I advise not to buy the original P3 though, there are almost no changes between P3 and P3 FES, unless you want it for a full collection or something like that.

  • Good review man! I don't have a PSP, but I certainly want to get this when I do. Although since I already beat Persona 3, I admit P3P is a bit low on my priority list, but I still want to play it.

  • Thanks! Yea, I never finished P3, so I just had to play it. I think that the female route has enough differences to keep it entertaining for someone who finished it a year or more ago.

At least, if they were to rerelease P4 like they did P3 I would definitely like to play it again and play it as a female....

I should have mentioned that FES is not available though, that is a bit disappointing...

  • how can you already have it? is has been like 1 day un the usa market you can never have playted it that much?

  • It has been released last week, July 6th in the USA. So I have been playing it for 3 - 4 days now.

They better release this game in Europe as well. Europeans who cant import are missing out....

  • The tired thing buged me for a bit, but you learn to manage it.

I'll probaly pick them both up at some point. I'm playing Alan wake and Dragon quest (worrior)1 at the mo anyway.

Your P4 review really made me want to get it! Haha

BTW did you get my PM about game center CX.

And the game sucked yesterday, dam spain! lol

  • Aha, well if you played P4 first, it is very hard to get adjusted to it. I want to explore the dungeons as long as I want to.

Oh yea, I remember seeing that PM, let me send you some links...

Yea, yesterday was disappoiting but I know Holland cannot win a WC. I am happy with three finals though... Damn referee...

  • Haha That was a Corner not a free kick!

  • Exaclty the goal fell out of a goal kick where it clearly was a corner. Oh and of course Heitinga's yellow cards were bs, although Van Bommel and De Jong were pretty awful though.

Oh well, great WC, disappoiting final. Still enjoyed watching all the matches...

  • lol yeah, There was drop to the chest! Oh well roll on the next 4 years :)

  • Another thing they changed is they made the knocking down of the enemies more like Persona 4. In the original P3 if you hit an enemy while it was down it would get back up, but in this one they get dazed like in P4.

  • Ah yes, that is true. Havent played P3 that much so I forgot about that.

  • Hey man I was thiking about picking this one up, but I've got FES on the PS2.

So i'm not too sure if it would be worth it really what'd you think?

  • Well the thing is I just could not play through FES, it was way too annoying going from P4 to P3. Luckily P3P solved the gameplay/grinding issues I had.

So yea, to save myself from breaking controllers, I recommend P3P.

  • I haven't play 4 yet, so it wasn't really an issue. Maybe if I pick up 4 and play it, then I'll see what your talking about.

I was just looking on ebay, They're going for around £25-35, so thats not too bad.....

  • WOW, that is pretty pricey, didnt know P4 became rare again.

Basically the two things I hated in P3 were; once you become tired your night in Tartarus ends and you automatically go back to the dorm, this is fixed in P3P. And second is that you can control the other party members directly instead of AI-controlled, which was added in P4 and P3P.

I recommend both P4 and P3P of course!
