  • Audi Arabia

  • it is 'ore-dee' as in 'audio' as the maker was named Horst which means 'hearing' in German and he wanted to have the car named 'hearing' too.

  • @annwoolliams Audi was pronounced correct here and you are almost right, but it´s not Horst (which is a German first name, lol), it was Horch, meaning "Listen!". They translated that into Latin, that´s why it is called Audi. They did that because the company´s founder left the company and couldn´t take the name with him, so he just translated it.

  • It can be "awdee" too. Done enough research on this.

A few days after they purched the car a woman calls saying that she is from the Audi Exchange, but pronounces it like my last name. I was pretty young at this point, so I yell at her that we don't want her products and hang up. I thought my parents were trying to replace me.

  • pronouciation manual is funnier ;D

  • Audi Doggy....

  • @Seoulman517 You followed the related video trail too far, even as it went through an obsidian wall with a hole in it into the Nether. Now you're here in a room made of TNT except for one bedrock brick with a switch on it. Looking left, you see me walking towards the switch. This is the part where I kill you.

  • howdee cowboy

  • too bad hes still saying it wrong

  • It´s Audi, not Owdee

  • @HPOTCOJ its correct what he says

  • arabs prounouce it like A-U-D-E-E like SAUDEE

  • finally a foreign word you got right

  • If your American it is completely acceptable to pronounce it "aw-dee". A former ivy league German professor told me that himself.

  • he still doesnt pronunce it right

    lol

and btw its Latin not german

the name of the founder of todays audi

was horch wich is german and stands for the imperativ listen!

Audi! is the Latin verson of Listen!

thas how the name audi came from

  • I'm confused as to how you could mess this word up?

  • awh-d

  • OW DEE!

  • AW DI!

  • German Company = the German pronunciation is the right one.

    "Ow-dee".

  • Why the fuck do you put your videos in high def?

  • @RobloxSodaTeam High Def sound too...

  • @RobloxSodaTeam Haha no shit.

  • it annoys me to death when i hear people say, "awwwwdi". oh and also when people say, "bolth" seriously there's no l in the bloody word!

  • thumbs up, the first german word you got right

  • @yanneq its pronounced correctly but its latin ;)

  • @yanneq besides bratwurst and kraut.

  • @yanneq German word?! That's Latin for "listen".

  • @Kreloar yeah: Imperative, second person, singular from audire... The bad thing about that is that not everybody knows that and that this is how we pronounce it in germany... I think he didn't mean that audi is a real german word but that it is something FROM Germany being pronouced correctly. :)

  • @yanneq its not german

    its latin

the name of the founder of audi was horch wich is german and means Listen! (imperativ)

    auti means listen in Latin

    ok?

  • @yanneq It's not German.

  • @OLee82 dude,it is!

it actually is bavarian.which is in germany.

  • @thisisnotgurke No, it's Latin.

  • @OLee82 doesn't make the brand less bavarian and thus not less german.of course the word audi itself is of latin origin, but since the brand is german it's pronounced german.

on top of that, since latin is a death language you cant be sure about the pronounciation.just look at the word cicero.some are sure it was pronounced kikero and others think it was tsitsero.go with whatever you think, but if it was a brand,it should still be pronounced the way it is in its country of origin.

  • @thisisnotgurke When did I ever talk about the brand or the way it is pronounced? All I said is that it was Latin, which it was, is and will be for all eternity. Secondly, you seem to underestimate the linguists, they know a lot more about how these word are pronounce than you think. And last but not least the language is "dead". Death is a noun.

  • @yanneq which isnt german at all :D

  • @yanneq Only that Audi is Latin... and yes it's correct

  • @john1pimp1archer he pronounced it correctly. not the american way, but the german way. and as we know audi is german.

  • @blab123oida Audi ist zwar deutsch

aber das wort audi ist nicht deutsch

    warum kapiert das niemand

    es ist latein!

  • @LightLink1992 das ändert aber nichts an der aussprache. es mag zwar latein sein, aber es wird trotzdem wie auf deutsch ausgesprochen.

  • @blab123oida nich ganz

    aber egal

    ja es wird ahnlich ausgesprochen

aber dieses audi ist auch nich wirklich deutsch oder?

    naja wurst ^^

  • @LightLink1992 Du weißt was ich meine.

  • @blab123oida but in the description it says "the correct American pronunciation"

  • @blab123oida Actually, Audi is an english name, before that it was called Germany-ish Horch (pronounced Horh)

  • @Mikolay1995 No, "Audi" is actually a latin word which is a translation of the german word "horch".

  • @blab123oida I'm American and I pronounce the German way.

  • @blab123oida Most educated Americans (oxymoron?) pronounce it as guy in the video did. I've heard some say "Adi" and it makes me cringe every time.

  • @blab123oida actually audi is latin and means hear in the imperative of audio

  • @john1pimp1archer you the troll!
