You need to branch mine higher up, you're not at diamond level, you'll never find diamond, you have to be at 13-20 on the y when you press f3, it will show you what your y is which is up and down, you're not at the right level.
I remember the first time I found Diamond, because right after I mined it I heard a Creeper beginning to explode, luckily I managed to dodge the creeper before it blew up, but as I was running away I fell into a hole I dug earlier that contained Iron, but sadly that hole lead to Lava so I lost all my Iron, and now, my Diamond...
