I hope they do raise the number of troops in Afghanistan, to hold the Taliban back and fight them on the ground instead of through civilian killing bombings. But that's just half a solution: the Afghan government then needs to negotiate a political solution with elements willing to reject the Mullah Omar/al-Qaeda leadership, not to mention stop the rampant corruption.
