The millions spent on lawsuits were mostly for crazy allegations against Mr. Arpaio. It's unfair taxpayers had to fit the bill based on people's emotional responses to what they perceive vs. facts and the law. The only people against Mr. Arpaio are either misinformed, over-sensitive, or are illegals themselves. How about the other laws he enforces? Don't seem to recall hearing about them, but he does much more than just arrest illegals.

Police say he goes by different names, they identified him as Jose Vivas-Gonzalez. Court documents identify him as Salvador Vivas-Diaz.
If Arpaio was doing his job-it may have been 100% preventable.
If your worthless Sheriff would go after real criminals and had a Warrant detail like any real Sheriff we might not have so many Felony warrants unserved and that situation wouldn't have happened.
Arpaio's answer to real crime is like going to the foot doctor when you have lung cancer. He goes after Janitors and corn vendors instead of going after real criminals. Arpaio is a coward and a fraud.

You see the Sheriff has a large staff, some are used for patrol, some are used for warrants some are used for special details and even more are used for multiple purposes. I fail to see your point, azlefan. If you were really against illegals with felonies, you would support Dan Saban over Joe Arpaio any day. I spoke with a Mesa police officer a few months back, and he said that Mesa PD turns over more illegals to ICE EVERY DAY than Joe has rounded up in all his racial-profiling raids COMBINED. Same goes for every police department in the Valley. Joe just uses this issue to misdirect voter's attention from his gross abuse of civil rights and tons of our money.

All of the people they "turn over" are sent to the jail for ICE processing. So it's still the Sheriff's job to do all of the processing. Plus, Sheriff's Deputies will ICE anyone without valid identification during a traffic stop. Mesa will not. If they did, they actually might do more ICE than the MCSO.
Dan Saban will be nothing more than a memory in 5 days. You want to talk about rights? What rights do victims of illegal alien criminals have when they are hurt or killed by non-citizens with no auto-insurance and no accountability to the country. What about the rights of the unemployed American who can't live on wages that are depressed by those who don't even live here or have to share the burden of paying for social services that they receive for free. How about they fix their countries?
If this Jose Vivas-Gonzalez would have been arrested by the MCSO the first 4 times he would have been deported. But since none of the other police agency leadership have the balls to start enforcing federal law(yet) they let repeat criminals like this back on the street with nothing more than a slap on the wrist. We need to send other country's garbage back to them. Try driving drunk and killing a Mexican police officer as an American, see what that gets you before you cry Human Rights here.

Not true. The sheriff's office is actually responsible to enforce law in the whole county. Cities are allowed to set up their own police forces if they want, but the sheriff is ultimately responsible for the whole county-therefore the sheriff's office is responsible to serve every warrant issued in the county. Do research before you blab!
Also, what do you have to say about the 43 million paid out in abuse and neglect lawsuits, and the 5.5 million paid out for corporate suites when the sheriff could have an office in the jail at no additional taxpayer expense. Are these undisputable facts "weak" as well?
Wow, this commercial is weak! People are starting to realize that the Sheriff's department is only the custodian of those warrants and they aren't MCSO warrants. Many of them are DPS, PPD, TPD, MPD, etc. etc. warrants and the MCSO warrants are actually being served very well. I can't believe they are still trying to use this lame and inaccurate smear.
This comercial is great. Arpaio is the weak one. Sheriff's are suppose to be responsable for Warrant Details. Saban will be and even azlefan will be safer.
Arpaio goes on TV bragging about "his Jails" but when it comes time to accept responsability for the conditions-he passes the buck. That is not a responsable law man.

Not true. The sheriff's office is actually responsible to enforce law in the whole county. Cities are allowed to set up their own police forces if they want, but the sheriff is ultimately responsible for the whole county-therefore the sheriff's office is responsible to serve every warrant issued in the county. Do research before you blab!
