yes i made nettle string! much harder than he makes it look but once you get the hang of it its easy however im not sure how you keep adding to it if you want to make longer string

when the string starts to come to an end, add another section just before running out, and twist it into the 1st section. keep adding the same way each time you start running out until you feel you have a long enough string.

...cant you just keep the sun on your right shoulder when its rising and when its above you wait..then as it sets keep it to your left shoulder and just keep walking straight keeping it on your shoulders??? Wouldn't that lead you north...or if you wanted south??

if walking at great distances you'll get lost with that technique because its not accurate and you might go in circles. =)
