  • And once he becomes "the one" he will be able to break the rules of the matrix and truly control the lord of all computer instruments

  • yo dude you look like keanu! you must have the ladies falling over you lol

  • he looks like Neo from the Matrix lol

  • @nightelf2004

    I thought the same! O___O

  • OMG!! You Rocks Man!! =)

  • i want this how much!!!somebody can help me !!!

  • @MrCarruana like, $7000.

  • this guy looks like keanau reeves.....however u spell his name cause i dont care lol

  • lol, this isn't an instrument, it's just an stick with sound coming out of it, lame -.-

  • u look like keanu reeves

  • @tropicalultraman exactly what I was thinking

  • hahaha! You're the BEST! :D You are so into it you almost lost yourself in another world! :D Awesome!

  • not long now till you can plug your brain in and think music, no that'll be cool!

  • Already working on it my friend. :) It is not as powerful a system yet, but I am currently working on the software.

  • I thought this was a put on at first and they were running an electronic pinball machine recording over the track. Think I prefer pinball...

  • BTW - it will only work on a MAC. It's not Windows compatible and you still need to hook it up to your stereo or guitar amp to get any kind of decent sound. The drums sound cheesy. $5600 is way too expensive for this toy. I wouldn't call it portable either. You need a computer at all times to hear anything.

  • @guitgeo you, sir, are a douche bag

  • @xXKrazyLepreconXx Well at least you know your place. To you I am Sir, jerk off !!

  • "....Morpheus?"

  • I would also like to add that I like this instrument. Like I said, i'm not against electronic music, and this is actually great. You are actually playing the instrument, and it can be used in live performances. I like multi tasking capabilities, and the neat features like the breath pipe and the little drum machine at the bottom end of the instrument. Cool Stuff

  • at least this motivates our new generation of lame dj's to play at least some sort of instrument.

  • @edoman

point made, i only respect the ones that have the bravery to carry a keyboard onto stage with them and make beats on the fly. Only using other equipment to loop and modify tunes they JUST played

  • @edoman Don't knock on those DJ guys too much. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, but I'll never mix a good trance or dance track. Playing a good DJ set takes just as much skill and practice as learning an instrument.

  • @woutertron Are you fucking kidding! Maybe they should run a course at Julliard for DJ's! Sheesh!

  • @orthotox Actually, I think Juilliard offers an electronic music course, but I'm not sure. The point is that sampling and mixing are skills that have to be cultivated just like fretting and embouchure. Not to mention live mixing: it's not like those guys just hit a button and sit back for the track to play, they are actively altering their compositions and sounds, interacting with the crowd. Sure, some guys are better than others, but that's my point: not every guitar player is great either.

  • @edoman You ever tried scratching? Its not as easy as it looks. Look at DJ Q-bert and Dj Kentaro

    /watch?v=qQQex1BNpO0

  • @edoman A bit offensive to someone who's a part of the younger generation and aspires to be DJ, while also knowing how to play multiple instruments and having a genuine interest in music, wouldn't you say?

  • You cant deny that devices similar to this in concept are going to be driving the future of music. Maybe not this Eiganharp in particular but likely future models and reedits. I wouldn't say the advent of the future of music has arrived just yet but to say this isnt similar to what we may see is just as dumb as saying the future of music isnt coming.

Musicians prepare yourselves. The game is changing faster than ever before.

  • Eigenprawn

  • this isamaziiiing!i want one!

  • All those all there that are doggin on it, this IS THE INSTRUMENT OF THE FUTURE. Some of you hate it because you think it "looks" stupid, but in the next 5-10 years, there are going to be bands that will be using just this, and I wanna be an EigenHarp guru, I'm so getting one

  • is he serious... ?

  • ugh thats worse than drum kit

  • @cba1067950

    you sir, are an idiot.

you can play even more than 2 melodies. this shit is epic win.

  • It comes with a program, you can create your own loops, sounds and such.

  • i think you can on it has a lot of different possibilities and you can make different sounds and such with it very customizable

  • I could see this being Dragon Forces Favorite toy

  • I SAW THIS ON G4 its only 5600 for this one, the medium sized one is 2600 i think, and the smallest one is $560

  • i saw another vid that either said 5,600 or 56,000 so idk prolly about 5000 though

  • Hahaha thats awesome lol, a lifetime of entertainment im sure

  • who the hell has 50,000 dollars laying around to buy one of these things

  • it's 4,000 if I'm not mistaken

  • where the heck would you get lessons to play one?

  • looks like an ak

  • How the hell do you make that look like an AK? They look nothing alike.

  • the top part dude

  • Wow, first time and your hitting random buttons to make a reasonable beat (sort of)! Your pretty good.

  • Well, pretty obvious he has musical talent. The way hes moving his fingers makes it seem pretty clear to me that he plays guitar.

  • haha first time my ass! that was pretty good.

  • sounds more like a something a dj would have it mostly plays in the techno side from all the vids i looked at

  • @dejavu3552 thats half the truth, but it's not only for the techno side i saw a lot of clasic covers with these...

I think evryone who's intrested in something new should get one. I will get one when I read more about it.

  • you guys are all idiots for debating guitar hero to an eigenharp. Ive played guitar for 5 years, and guitar hero since the second one came out. Ive played rockband drums, and can transfer it over to reak drums. Of course these games cant mimic a full instrument, it uses the basic structure and functions of it. So could we please argue about something more mature?

  • SO BAD!!!!

    WTF... It is not music!

  • Typical You Tube. Someone puts up a video of the Eigernharp, and suddenly a flame war about GH starts up.

This is an intereresting, and very expensive controller. All the music is generated via a Mac computer, the instrument has no tone generators.

The whole system together is both more limited than a workstation synth in some ways, but more expressive in other ways.

  • That's pretty much the trade-off you get for taking a synthesizer and midi controller and combine them into a physical instrument in this way.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of creative results will come about from this new gem of music technology.

  • @MichaelJHuman or windows.. or linux..

  • @MichaelJHuman actually its not that expensive.

  • these things are like 6000 bucks, i want one so bad.

  • are you kidding me? this IS a real insturment. even though its not like a guitar, it beats guitar hero any day

  • That's just a row!

  • omg its Neo!

    haha :P

  • I hope we can see this on some upcoming Dream theater songs :) Jordan Rudess should go take a look at this it would be an awesome piece to those things he already plays (continuum pad etc.)

  • people! just stick with guitars or real instruments

  • why ? don't get me wrong. guitar is great. but you must not believe in the fact that humans were given a wonderful ability create. why would you want us to stop. so we can be cavemen or hippies??

  • no because real instruments convey emotion if played by a real musician, that is what art music is, and the best today are from musicians who are like modernday hippies, so eat a chode.

  • well I did say dont get me wrong, Guitar is great. I agree. Real instrument do convey emotion. that doesn't mean these instruments don't. have you played any kind of electronic instrument?? I have been playing music for 17 years now. since I was 9 years old. I play guitar, drums, synthesizer, and drum machines. I incorporate both worlds in my music and I can tell you first hand there is the same emotion that goes into any instrument if you can play them well. so anyway I'll agree to disagree.

  • I dunno why you gave him thumbs down... Nothing like this is going to compare to the look, feel and sound of real instruments for a long, long time. Can you imagine a band doing a concert, yet each of them just have one of these, it's be far beyond idiotic looking. This might be fun, but if you're learning and instrument, get the real thing rather than this, if you already play your instrument and want something to **** about with, get one of these 'cause it'll probably be fun :P

  • I do not understand the discrimination that people have towards electronic music. Maybe if they understood that most of the music they listen to has been electronically tweaked with they might appreciate that it is not the instrument that makes the feeling, it is the intent, emotion, and skill of the player.

  • @Kyle2themax You're right, but great recordings arn't necessarily enhanced electronically, and todays music isn't great. And plus, the current rave scene gives electronic music a horrible rep, it almost makes me hate the music. It's a modern re-birth of the hippies but with no intent, it's just brainless shit.

But I have had my share of electronic music, and I am a big fan of video game soundtracks. That keeps my interest in electronic music somewhat alive.

  • Playing? or playing with? where's the music?

  • he's playing with the arpeggio thingy. there is skill to be had in it if you watch the other vids

  • playing

theres a loop in it also

he plays it, and stops ti and it plays itself that part, then he plays other parts with it.

  • i cant stop thinking about the instruments in star wars when i see this, btw i bought a bmw for 7 thousand dollars, this instrument is about that much, wow

  • like half that price, 4k, its still a big ass chunk of money..

  • nah look it up on the the official website,, 5 907.225 U.S. dollars... and i dont think thats with tax, its either gunna be REALLY big the next decade, or go out of business, hahaha

  • Some type of Casio thing on steroids.

    More gadget than instrument.

Violin can make you cry, ..can this ?

  • Im buying one first chance I get.

  • Are you fucking kidding me it has over 120 buttons and like fuckin 5 billion ways you can use it.

  • itz like a guitar hero guitar

  • you're a fucking idiot. i wish they never came out with that damn thing ever since they did ppl who play it think they know something about music. pisses us real musicians who actualy know something about music off. its not like guitar hero and just because you play a plastic toy doesn't mean you know ANYTHING about music guitar hero is nothing like any instrument!

  • I don't understand how it is that big of a deal. This will never make the exact same noises as an acoustic guitar, but it essentially takes the same skill to play, if not more, than a guitar.

  • who gives a rats ass... its about the fun!

  • Hey can I see a video of you, a musician, play music please?

  • if i had a web cam or a recording device i would love to put videos on youtube. but sorry i dont have either.

  • Dude...

How do they not know something about music?

  • well you tell me what they know about music that the avg person who sits and listens to music doesn't know.

  • Obviously they know how to keep up with tempo. Isn't that like 65% of what all music is?

  • lol no.and anyone who listens to music and taps their foot to the beat can keep up with the tempo.

  • Exactly, so obviously they know how to keep up with the time, which is actually like 65% of music. Because without being able to keep up with the time you wouldn't be able to play. Which also hurts your point.

  • you play guitar hero dont you? and you probly dont even play a REAL instrument. NO it is NOT 65% of music i've played guitar for three years and am getting ready to learn drums. ppl who play guitar hero dont know anything more about music than the avg person it doesn't teach them anythign other than they can move their fingers slightly fast. why dont you actualy learn an instrument then come back and tell me what people who play guitar hero know about it.

  • I do play guitar thanks.

I've been playing guitar for four years.

  • you've proly never even heard of a triplet a scale 16ths 32nds 64s wholes halfs quarters those are bassic things. there's the circle of fiths, minor major diminished pentitonic, tonic, sharp flat. if i said Bb major you wouldn't even know what i was talking about. you may know what a hammer on is though or a pull of and tapping but i bet thats all you know. point is guitar hero is a waste of time. you could spend just as much money on the real thing instead of a plastic toy. and it is just that.

  • Ahem, i am in the high school marching band and jazz band. We've won state champs twice just this season. Go fuck yourself

  • You forgot B# LOL

  • @jimw281972

    B#..lol..or maybe Cb?lol

  • I dont think the majority of people buy Guitar thinking tis the real thing, or will teach them guitar. It's a fucking game, they buy it so they can play, and heres where u might lose me so Sssstrain ure ears,.... the fucking game.

    Christ......

  • There there, i just beat it a few hours ago XD I love GH ^^

  • it's kinda like pushing all the buttons on the elevator... :P

  • lol

  • yeah... its just a midi controller...

  • A really f'in cool one.

  • i think i like it tho

  • wtf

  • you make it look like real life hammerhead/fruity loops :D

  • Could it be...he's fallllin' in love.........?

  • Look its the ONE Neo!! unfortunately they forgot to download his Eigenharp playing skills so he has no idea what to do on it.

  • You are funny.

  • Hahahaha

  • I remember my first time... I was young and she turned out to be a ...Mammal

  • looks like a running board off a 89 chevy blazer

  • he is used to playing the guitar that you can see :p

  • dosent look like its his first time

  • it is sooo 80s

  • I am beyond impressed by this arranging interface - I didn't even cross my mind that the drum loops a la fruity loops could be created real time like this. I know other instruments / sequencers have done it before - but I'm very excited that you can arrange a beat like that, loop it, and then play other insturments over it

  • Quiet, you.

  • yawn.. another annoying ignorant troll

  • WANKER

  • thats pretty cool.

  • People mock... but try listening to a guitarist playing a fretless basguitar for the first time .. It doesn't really give the instrument credit .. yet. ;-)

  • How much cost ???

  • $6200

  • I WANTZ ONE

  • Was it fun to play?

  • Keanu Reeves?

  • That's funny. heh heh.

  • Thanks :)

  • I know what he's thinking: Whoa...

  • Chris Wolstenholm + Paul Gilbert

  • WTF...

Que bueno qe esta ese aparato?

    Quien lo hizo?

    Vendra a la argentina?

  • Super futurista!! cuando lo vi por primera vez me quede con la voca abierta :-O

  • Holy crap i want this thing.

  • Might be interesting if Adrian Belew gives it a go........

  • Or Mr. Levin. :)

  • I am sure Peter Gabriel will feature the Eigenharp on his next tour.
