But you the current high end video carda ren't enough for current rsolutions BECAUSE it can't max fsx out. And I just replied that that's not entirely true, a card that can't max out a badly programmed game, doesn't mean anything.

As I said, I can program you a pacman game that won't max out on cf 5870x2. Solely ebacuse I programmed it resource intensive.

It's pretty clear how powerful the GTX 295 is. As these benchmarks show it's great FPS with challenging games. No single Graphics card can run Crysis. ByGameForGamer @ YouTube can run Crysis on Ultra High (Mod) 16 X AA and 16 AF 1920 x 1200 with 60 fps, he uses Nvidia GeForce GTX 295 Quad Sli and Intel i7 Core 965 Extreme @ 4.4ghz.

i have just one of these, nothing stands in its way.. except crysis warhead :/ i can max the settings and resolution at 1680X1050 but only 2x anti-aliasing :/ the original crysis can go up to 4x and for some reason i can boost wars up to 16x with a decent framrate but 8x is more stable.games like half life, fear 2, fallout, dead space, ect. will run outstanding with maxed settings. i payed $500 for mine and i also had to buy a new power supply for 150, damn thing needs 680 watts :X

Just because you have a Good Graphics card doesn't mean a game will run smooth, what type of motherboard are you running on? CPU? Memory? All of this factors into the amount of FPS one will get.

It all depends on the machine and drivers that 3dGuru used to test the card. The specifications of which are unknown.

(Drivers were not released for GTX295 at the time of testing, GTX280 or 9800GX2 drivers were most likely used.)

FPS Benchmarks are not comparable between different systems and configurations.

2 things come to my mind, beta drivers working poorly, or crysis outdated. Crysis fps are much better wtih 1.20 and 1.21 patch, like 5-10 more. Maybe they used an older Crysis version.

why do they keep shitting out utility power drainers and microwave bathing videocards like these ones when they could just follow the concept of 3dfx and use say four 1 watt 500 MHZ via eden cpus on 4 sockets and low voltage ram and use the Voodoo 5 6000 3dfx made years back as a inspiration, they could make a powerhouse card that only uses 10 watts on the power rail rather than 400 watts of costly powerdrain.

Computer hardware components arent designed to be efficient anymore, they are designed to force people to upgrade every few years to keep up with current technology. That is how these manufacturers stay in business. Its really just a marketing strategy I think. Video cards in particular are inefficient and drain alot more power than they need to just for that extra 10% performance gain.

in sum games yes its better then 4870x2 but not in all.. the 4870x2 have 230GB bandwith+ 3.6Ghz memori not 2ghz.. and 2GB memori not 1.7gb.. :) but gtx295is good 2 :) i have 4870x2 and i love it!! :D

The specs dont really matter, its how they are used, ATI have a reputation of using a brute force method to render anything. nvidia are still using gddr3, compared to ATIs gddr5 which performs the same. I wanna see nvidias version of gddr5 :)
