  • Very nice showcase! And you're welcome! I do like that GE recorder, and it is definently built to last! GE was just in a habit of doing DC bias DC bis DC bias...

  • I noticed to is that they never made a magnetic phono. However, I used to have a GE boombox with detachable speakers exactly like the one you have, but in gray had a magnetic phono hookup. I remember hooking a tape deck to it and it was overdriven.

  • That boombox? Yes, I do notice because I tried line-in on it before and it's overdriven. Nice thing it's AC bias too!

  • I remember it having a ground hookup, but during that time I had no idea what it's for. The reason I got rid of it because it was starting to go bad. When I increase the volume, the tape deck was starting to slow down unless I set it on level 2 or below. It prolly was a bad cap, but when I was 10 I knew nothing about caps or soldering, LOL!
