Getting cat or dog toys for Ferrets is a big mistake. Turn your back and the things are in the bugger's hoard, gone forever (or until you clean up). Best toy you can use are washed out milk jugs with a couple of coins inside. Ferrets love them and they are too big to fit into their nests.

That size cage is fine if the ferret gets out enough. My own cage is much bigger and it was a waste if money, I've NEVER seen my boy play or do anything other than eat, sleep or poop while in his cage. But I know he loves to sleep there because when he's tired he goes in by himself.
