@BobMcCob Man, I consider myself to be pretty eclectic. I've got music all across the genres, all the way back to the 1920's from today. If you really listen closely to these songs, you have to admit they are very elaborately structured for something within this genre. The vocal harmonies really deliver the experience on top of the way the strings and drums mesh. So what constitutes "good music," then? Is it the talent of the artists or whether or not they're from an older generation?

@breeg I wouldn't say that the talent of any artists is based on what generation they are from...as you said, there is fantastic music from as far back as the 20's straight through today, and even earlier. If music is good, it's good, regardless of how popular they are, how many people know about them, or what year they formed. Also, I find it difficult to technically place them in any one genre, they have influences from folk and rock and electro and dance and indie....all IMHO....

There are good bands that aren't indie like, MGMT, for example and indie music is good and all but only 5% of indie bands make enough money to survive in the business and that 5% doesn't make enough money to say, buy a castle (that's why MGMT isn't an indie band. Dude, I love this song, but i hate the way the records sound. They're SO MUCH BETTER live! Just put a mic in the room and record them like that. They're more than good enough. Don't autotune them and run the whole band through a reverb chamber. Get the studio out of the way and let Mother Mother show us how it's done!
