  • Comments matter, It helps introducing new people to great artists. Artists live on compliments then money. I always enjoy listening and reading comments.

because, some of us are from areas where older people always tried to degrade what we like, and what we get interested in. I have life, I'm an engineer. job, family,... when I read how other are enjoying art, makes me feel that I belong to a society that has no wrong in it. I mean music.

Warren's playing lifts my soul up and takes it home.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!

  • No Les?

  • maaaan. i love this clip. turns me into a puddle on the floor :S

  • Zorack10 I agree 110%.By far my Favorite Musician/Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter hands down. Not mention one of the Most Down to Earth Individuals I've ever had the priviledge to meet.

  • I get the chills.

  • @mudd619 yea, me too :)

  • yes!!!

  • He should play firebirds more often....I much more prefer his tone with firebirds above the tone he gets with les pauls

  • @utuber471

    You asked:

"can someone please tell me who is on keyboards"

I don't know for sure, but in another video of the same song it's Danny Louis.

Their wiki page has some more names.

  • Mr. Haynes is like fine wine: he just gets better and better and better as the years roll by.

  • Just discovered this guy. FINE FINE FINE GEETAR PLAYER :D

  • @Bazzah999 Just now discovering Warren Haynes? Well, you'll be happy to know that you have about 20 years of his music to catch up on.

  • 1:39 Easy boy

  • How the fuck could you dislike this? Shit like this is the main reason youre born. because i know your mom couldnt sleep with your dad without this in the backround

  • At some point i think he's impressed by his own solos, i know i would be..

"Dang did i just play that? Cool"

  • Thanks for the video man !!

I never heard of him but he's amazing.... I'm gonna get some CDs....

  • where is this video from?

  • Eat your heart out Justin Bieber.

  • your face or mine?

  • 7 people came here by mistake. meant to see rick astley

  • Holy shit that's good. Could be about 3 hours longer though.

  • I wish I wore a bib cus now I have face allover my shirt

  • FUCK! :)))))

  • FUCK yeah. There are a few licks here that I lift from Warren all the time, I fucking love this guy.

  • love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • The people that dislike this are messing with me right?

  • where is this????

  • @joshAda123 looks like nyc

  • 2:24 !

  • come on wanee hurry up so i can hear this man again

  • bonnarooooooo!!!!

  • didnt govt mule used to have cover of sympathy for the devil on you tube last year?

  • i didnt know the paddle pop lion could shred

  • absolutely sick

  • Warren is the man. Him and Derek compliment each other really well in the Brothers. Also look at how he switches his pick up's so many times through the solo. It's like he has certain tones for each part of his solos while most people stick to one during solos. I'm a tone freak myself..

  • Because sometimes, you just need to shred in a wanton manner inside a coffeehouse to remind you what life is all about.

  • And the whole front row floor was soaked from everybody wetting their pants... Unreal...

  • this is some awesome stuff. cant get enough of it!!!

  • Still my favorite vid of Warren Haynes anywhere, just love this so much, thanks

  • Warren is the Man! One thing I love about him is seeing the guitars he plays. He must have an epic collection. I would kill to spend a Sunday afternoon at his house with him telling about every one. And then letting me play them of course...:-)

  • And I say top 3 because it all depends on what mood I'm in at the moment.

  • No 23 onthe list.Bull Sh#t,he's in my top3,along with Bonamassa!+ Page

  • Where was this?

  • The man has some class !! All day !

  • By far one of my favorite Mule songs, just jams this to the bone, sooo good.

  • Warren makes me feel alive. What an exceptional player he is / Beautiful voice and perfect guitar. One of the greatest of our time. Thank you

  • Tuning is E-flat

  • goose bumps

  • warren tunes in ?

  • Where the hell did my comment go?

I went to great lengths to explain why I believe that a little sloppy playing doesn't make you a bad player.

Warren has so many other qualities - he is versatile, his phrasing is beautiful and thoroughly emotional, and he has written countless songs that are so complex and beautifully composed that you can listen to them over and over, and they never get old.

This is why, as someone else here put it, "Warren is rich and famous and many better players aren't"

  • i find it funny how people think their comment matters. Nobody Cares what anyone says on here. and if you do. get a life.

  • Holy shit, I got goosebumps. In-fucking-credible!

  • 12 string guitar??? where??? your seeing double mate....

  • I've never heard a more vigorous playing of a 12 string guitar. Warren Haynes is more than amazing!

  • @garminpink sorry, but only six on the firebird there

  • That's a Gibson Firebird V... Johnny Winters, Stephen Stills, etc.. all played one

  • Comment removed

  • And that matters how?

  • Comment removed

  • Fair enough!

  • ..and still one of the best players around. Funny someone would come to a specific artist to watch the vid and the best they could say was 'he's fat'. Guess you missed the part where he really good at playing.

  • Comment removed

  • I could but that would be a buzzkill so I figure I won't let it go. I mean, if I were live up to being a baby, I shouldn't let it go. Babies are usually pretty persistent so by you estimation of being a baby, I shouldn't let it go. Then again calling people fat and babies on the internet is as bold as fluffy bunnies, save of Monty Python's Holy Grail.

  • sick solo!

  • Hardest working man in the biz.........par none

  • absolutely true

  • warren haynes=THE FUCKING SHIT

  • Great..... need no more words to describe this.

  • Why does he play with The Dead and The Allman Brothers, along with his own band, Gov't Mule? Here's why.

  • don't forget Dave Mathews, Metallica, and Blues Traveler, and a bunch of others

  • Because he CAN!!!! lol.

  • because you can hear that he loves the music

  • shred it up Warren!!! awesome

  • can anyone tell me what concert this was?

  • looks like it's from someone's studio in nyc

  • i think this is from the virgin record store, but i could be wrong.

  • awesome. still got his autograph hangin from my rear view mirror, 3 years and countin :)

  • so clean....they should sell warren haynes soap..

  • lol. brilliant kmbop34 :)

  • thanks.

  • in the shape of a mule

  • @kmbop34 It'd be sold out. always...

  • warren is a guitar god.....so much soul ,never a bad song with that guy

  • One of the few guitarists today who plays with true soul and a excellent singer as well(man I could FEEL the soul bleed from that guitar). Warren's videos on youtube are my staple and I'm damn glad I'm still alive to hear such great music.

  • @Zorack10 well said, and i heartily concur, Mule keeps me sane in an otherwise ridiculous world.

  • it dont get much better than this warren righton ^5

  • This is honey blues:):)))))

Best wishest for Warren Haynes from Poland:)

  • Really great moment here from Warren

  • sonofaguitargod you're retarded

  • yeah cause all people who listen to blues music are from the south...dumbass. oh and by the way, rolling stone listed warren haynes as the 23rd greatest guitarist OF ALL TIME.

  • sonofguitargod

What are you saying?! I bet and win that you'd probably f*ck with Zakk Wylde if he asks, and he's nothing more than pentatonics... And he still is the man, just like Haynes... Do so much with so limited scale? Bet you're not even able to bend a string up...

  • Comment removed

  • you wake up you damn jackass he kills all those fag metal and shred guitarists. that is soul right there and i wouldn't expect a little bitch like you to understand

  • even if you are serious get fucked troll. music is about the sound not how good it looks, go watch your malmsteen videos on mute

  • sonofguitargod;

you're an idiot man, that crap about malsteen and that guys mum wasnt even close to being funny.

  • i can see 30 years from now someone watching this footage like we watch old hendrix footage today and still being amazed. the rainy streets of what looks like NYC with all the taxi cabs goin by, woulda been a cool atmostphere to hear this in.

  • speechless. hes the man. one of the greatest OF ALL TIME

  • he plays steel

  • Jerry playd lots

  • those be some tasty licks

  • Warren is playing straight with his heart.

    5/5

    Robin :o)

  • I play too !

  • very good climate in Blues and vife stars

  • My respect and admiration for Warren Haynes only grows every time I see one of his performances. He expresses his emotion through the notes he plays, not stage antics. His dedication to the blues is astounding.

  • What to say?

  • into that "feel" zone that Jimi,Stevie and many have gone......amazing

  • THAT TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!!!!

    *melts*

  • You guys? get real and change channels.

  • is danny louis on keys here? is it a wurlitzer?

  • Yes

  • 1:04 to 1:17... Sick as fuck. Warren is a fucking beast. Every time I see him play I am blown away by his phrasing and control. He's a true master. Unbelievable tone.

  • gotta say in my opinion: warren is not nor have i ever seen him sloppy. i have seen warren live at least 300 times in the past 7 or 8 years either with mule, the dead, phil or the allman brothers... never sloopy. and warren has played shows where he was on stage for 6 or more hours straight... never missed a note. some of the most soulful stuff i've ever been into.

  • Before Jackasses shit yourselves, I'm kidding!

Warren Haynes is the greatest active guitarist today (except for maybe scorpionshred,he's perfect!)

  • Maybe if he learns how to play that thing, Jessica Simpson will let him play for her, If and only if, he can put a little feeling in it.

  • He's no Fall out boy, Thats for sure!

  • thank god hes NOT ...LOL, he has soul!

  • Cool seeing Warren play but he can get pretty sloppy sounding at times. I've seen better performances from him. This was like just a droning blues solo.

It's going to take some more brilliance to melt my face off.

  • Wow. You must be so cool, to be able to so casually excoriate such a great guitar player. I, for one, am very impressed. I'm sure everyone else here is impressed, as well. Who's next on your list, maestro? Jimi Hendrix? Jimi was VERY sloppy. You should let him have it, too! Out of curiosity, do you play guitar? If so, I'd love to hear you solo. Maybe you can illustrate for us all how Warren should have played this solo. You know, with more BRILLIANCE.

  • Good reason why YOU will never become a great musician - because you can't take criticism. What makes you sound ridiculous is that you take such offense when the criticism isn't directed at you.

Everyone can stand some improvement. No, I'm not typical enough to think that much of Hendrix. He was overrated in my opinion, but I guess you're going to take issue with that too.

Obviously I wasn't out to impress anyone. Just my opinion. Grow thicker skin boy!

  • I'm trying to figure out which one of your asinine responses was more embarrassingly moronic. First off, you are clearly to thick to have fully understood the tone of my email. I took no personal offense to your idiotic critique of Warren's playing. Warren needs no defense against soulless pricks like you. I was just turning the tables on you to amuse myself. It obviously worked, as I got some predictably stupid responses from you. How do you know that I'm a musician?

  • How do you know that I'm not already a great musician? If you'll take a second look at your response, you may realize that your skin is no thicker than my. Boy. Your getting awfully defensive . I could care less what you think of Hendrix, Haynes, or anybody else for that matter. I just love ripping on you anonymous critics of great artists. Hahahaaaaaaaa! United States of Asshole! You are FUNNY! And SMART, too! Your boyfriend is a lucky, lucky man!

  • If you could care less what I think then you should just keep your mouth shut. Unfortunately you're just another youtube dumbass who can't take honest comments.

Think about it. Nothing I said before was really bad. I didn't say he sucked or anything. Nice try but you can't turn the tables on me. You're obviously mistaken

By the way, you must know how lucky he is, he is your father :)

  • LOLOLOL! BAM!

  • I'm not trying to turn the tables. I'd appreciate it if you can show me an example of my inability to take an honest comment, I'll concede. As far as you not saying anything bad, well I suppose that is fairly subjective. It's not so much that you said something bad, just something stupid. This is a great guitar solo, and you just blew it off. To me that smacks of someone inferior trying to feel superior by negatively criticizing greatness.

  • Just to refresh your memory, and to substantiate my argument, here is what you said: "Cool seeing Warren play but he can get pretty sloppy sounding at times. I've seen better performances from him. This was like just a droning blues solo.

It's going to take some more brilliance to melt my face off. "

Maybe you don't think that's "bad", but you can't say that it's good. So, pray tell, what it is, then? I'm curious.

By the way, calling Warren my father is not an insult.

  • Ha ha ha! You're petty dude. By the way, dumbass, I wasn't calling Warrent Haynes your father. You should re-read your previous post. The part about your father being a lucky man.

By the way genius, if you want to go head to head with someone you can send them a message instead of being petty and getting into it over the comments area.

The fact is, I gave my honest opinion and you went off on a faggot tangent about it. Get over it. Move on. No need to quote, respond, anything else.

  • Congratulations on learning a new word. "Petty". That's a good one. Although, I don't see that it applies to my willingness to debate you in public, rather that in an email. I figured that you had no problem talking shit about Warren's playing in public, so maybe you'd have the balls to defend your statements in public. I was wrong. That happens a lot. Just like me being wrong about the "father" comment. It's even funnier now that I see what you were saying. So, you're fucking my dad, huh?

  • I gotta say, that's very brave of you to openly admit that you're fucking my dad. I'll respond all day long, chump. You'd better pack a lunch. "scorpionshred" huh? Let me take a wild guess. You're a "shredder" guitar player. That would explain why you can't look past Warren's or Jimi's "sloppy" playing and actually feel what they're playing. Just like you have your opinion about they're playing. I have my opinion about your opinion. Deal with it. Oh, by the way, this has been a ton of fun!

  • Hey, I have an idea. Let's go live in the United States of Asshole over here and no one can give an honest opinion anymore.

Pfft! You need to go back to your room and continue beating off to posters of Obama.

  • Haaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha! That was too original! Jerk of to Obama poster! Woooooooohahahahahaha! OH my GOD! Did your parents have any kids that lived?

  • LOLOL! BAM!

  • I believe that the song matters more than the "soul", and I don't really like the song. It's not bad, I just don't like it much.

  • Where'd my face go?

OH! YOU MELTED IT OFF. (Yeah, something along those lines can be heard in the movie "School of Rock")

  • OK, gibeast8, I went & searched Kurt Rosenwinkl as suggested.Truly a great guitarist/musician, but you are totally missing the point! You are of the opinion that talent, alone, is what a musician should be measured by. If that were the case then the world would have never known Hendrix, The Beatles etc. as they weren't world-class musicians. Music is an extension of your soul & everybody's different. I'm sure Kurt Rosenwinkl would totally agree with me. Open your mind a little, bro!

  • gibeast8, If your dick was half the size of your ego, you'd have to liscense it. Try writing something a little less purposelessly derogatory. Haynes never claimed to be the greatest compositional guitarist ever to have lived. He simply plays with soul. Your "ensemble" might not even be able to convey that feeling with 30 instruments.

  • lemme guess gibest. you are of the mind that shredders and hte million notes persec crew constitute "good". I hare to break it to you but techwank shredding is dead mate. Feel is where it is at.

Go listen to some malmsteen and stfu you tasteless retard.

  • Warren Haynes is such a fucking monster. Every time I've seen him play, he has owned the crowd, the room. He dominates.

  • Awesome stuff. The Beacon is just around the corner!!!

  • Warren is the greatest guitar player alive

  • warren will be "THE DEADS" new guitarist for their new tour.

  • I have no doubt that clapton would love to play with warren haynes. To say he is intimidated is ignorant, well rather to say thats the reason they havent played together. I would highly doubt that is the reason after looking at a list of the other godlike figures clapton has jammed with. I'm sure eventually something will come from both of them.

  • ih8, I wonder this too. I don't believe it has anything to do with scheduling BS, because Warren will play anytime with anyone. My opinion, and that's all it is, is that Warren is one artist that may intimidate Eric. Warren is our modern day "guitar god". Just watch the faces of anyone who sits in with Mule, and you'll see what I mean. They revel in this guy's presence. Feb. 13 will be my 20th. Mule show, and I am always in awe of Warren's gift. Peace.........JS.

  • anybody else besides me ever wonder why Warren Haynes wasnt at the Crossroads Festival? Of all the guys... he deserves to be there.. any rift between him and Clapton?

  • thanks sicklecell Forum, so tru, so tru, he is a master, i wish more poeple relized who this man is, don't u?????ttyl

  • warren is king and alot of people don't EVEN know who he is!!!*************

  • very true
