to be more exact, the disease is called ichthyosis, in this documented case the form is ichthyosis gravis, which is also called harlequin syndrome. I believe there is almost no chance to survive anywhere, in western countries the defect is usually discovered prenataly, so the pregnancy will be stopped.

Poor baby, has dried up skin, and hands and face is not formed properly. If he was born else where in the world, it wouldn't have been such a big issue, as maybe his organs are all functioning properly. May Allah bless him and his parents. Ameen
