QUESTION..........What is the difference between New York style of COGIG and Detroit Style of COGIC?

Good question. I'd say that many detroit organist have been influenced by Twinkie Clark. Check out some of her videos. Also check out Anthony Taylor, he's from detroit.

As for the differences, I'd say they are a little more "churchy" and tend to use all of the drawbars at once. Most of the cats in NY dont really do that. Now Brooklyn Organist have a very distinctive style that incorporates Jazz and Classical chords to create an almost Gothic sound. Almost everyone from BK plays like that.

Melvin plays the brooklyn style. The minor chords are one of the biggest elements of the BK sound.
