i heard this song 2 hours before my dad called out in the night in wrenching pain and was admitted into the hospital for complications that lead to him being there for a total of a month resulting in cancer....i listened to it all of the time, its hard to not get a lump in my throat every time i hear it...my dad is now 5 months cancer free....this song, it just means so much to me....

To me, this song speaks so eloquently about the battle between hope and hesitation. The hope of finding love again and the hesitation that comes from remembering the pain it can inflict. How much do we let pass by because of fear and doubt? I want to be that little girl, grace in my heart and flowers in my hair. Because of this song, I think I might just make it....

I caught this the other day when I rewatched an episode of Stargate Universe. It hit home for me because a guy I really like doesn't want a serious relationship with me at this time, and two of the lines in the song (And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.

For whatever reason, the person telling this story could not get as close as he needed to the person he is trying to help. I think he thought it would hurt too many other people in his life...he is reaching out to someone who needs him, and he needs her. But they can't really be together. He is saying goodbye to her.

It is by far the best cut from this record. Not many songs by anyone hold the truth and the power that this one does. Its akin to Oliver James by Fleet Foxes.
