I'm thinking about getting a nose piercing before the summer is up and i become a freshman, but I've been hearing that keloids are actually common with nose piercing and seeing this video, I'm kind of scared of what might happen if i get a nose piercing. I was wondering how i could avoid this? i know leaving it alone is important but what if you have glasses? Will that irritate it and possibly form a keloid? I mean obviously i wouldnt have my glasses so low, but... im just looking at precautions
well i had one on my tragus and the way i got mine to go away way by using tea tree oil.. its natural and it works great apply 2 times a day and u will see results... but many ppl do difernt things u gotta find what works for u everyone body is different
try cortizone cream and/or tea tree oil! i used to have a keloid on my ear, but i put that stuff on and it went away in like 2 months. if you get it surgically removed, it's likely to come back, even bigger.
i got a small keloid like ball on my ear lobe were my piercing was its about the size of a BB do you think it can turn into this? if anyone know please pm me ive had this for about a year now
@gatoraidsU, as long as you keep the scar clean and no hard scrubbing of the scar site, you will be ok. DO NOT SCRATCH IT!! I've had several surgeries with good results. HTH
dud, how can you let it get that bvad, i beleive i have the start of a kiloid, i pierced my ear and took it out becasue it was in the wrong spot and then i pierced it again next to it, so theres a bump and i just squeezed it and shit shot out, but should i take the earring out or will i be ok?
i have that and it does not hurt but only when i get shots on it i think it is really important to go to a doctor please see to it it could get worse it can be the size of a golf ball mine is the the size of a marble please get that checked out like i did i am getting laser surgery please see to it that u do too. thanks bi!
i havent found anything orally. but u could do have a doctor inject steriods in them (cortisal is what they call it). The injections are painful. But you can ask him to numb the area first. The size of the keloid determines how many injections you will have to indure. Im still debating surgery vs injections. What do u think? Mine is the size of the tip of your index finger.
I didn't knew too much about Cheloids so Googling I read quite long and still am interesting doubtful about its causes...despite more common appearing in more pigmented skins etc could we say it naturally depends on the person? ...and I would love to know if there is any Piercing Studio owner if could tell me how often come to the studio a person with Keloid. Thx!!!!!
i have a small one (about the size of a pocorn cernal) inside my right earlobe right now. i had it removed in thailand and the doctor said there is a 50% chance it will grow back if i didnt keep a clothes pin on it every night for three months to keep pressure on it. of course i didnt, it hurt and would fall off in the night anyway. it grow back about the same size.
Good information. Do you have more information that would be valuable to other people? What was your experience with your keloid? What caused it to start gowing?
well mine is small. its an inner lobe keliod so its not noticable unless you pinch my lobe. it was caused by having my ear pierced with a piercing gun at the mall. so if your planning on piercing your ears i would suggest seeing a professional at like a good tattoo shop. it might cost a little more but its worth it. guns are known to cause keloids.
i read that somewhere when i googled keloids. so it might not be fact since it is the web but it said something like because the guns do a quick forceful punch they are more likely to cause scar tissue or keloids.
i have it on my chest. right smack in the middle. and it look like a gantic pimple and everyone kept on looking about it and asking so i got it operated and it came back bigger than before. The doctor injected with steriods and it actually flatten it. i think you should go to a plastic surgery doctor and ask about it.
sorry youtube will only allow 500 characters per post so hears the rest:
ive been puttin vitamin E on it a couple times a day and it is slowly shrinking. im doing this because i want to guage my ear lobes. is this a result of a piercing?? do you think if i do stretch mine could grow like this? please respond if you have any information. ive talked to alot of tattooist and piercers with all kinds of home remedys but only the vitamin E thing is showing results.
well i know it has shrunk a little but its not really that big and its inside my earlobe so its kinda hard to follow the progression. but it definitely has shrunk some. its a really slow process but its a cheap process so thats my ticket!
yeaa the doctors tells you that too but it really didn't help. steriods injection would be the besT!! i know it sounds weird "steriods" but these are the one that actually treats it, flattens it.
i know, the first time they told me that they were going to injected into my keloid i was like "what!!" and i ask them are they sure and they were like yes. its nott the ones that druggs you and stuff. it doesn't hurt at all. well my doctor numb it first then inject it.
Keloids are usually a result of a reckless and poor way of keeping a piercing clean.
