I know how to fix this, just follow this steps:

1) go to general>date and time>change your time zone to any other city

2) then go general>phone> and change your "my number" put there only number 4 or something

3) turn call waiting OFF if it's ON, but if it's ON turn it On

4) the problem is fixed !!!

If your PC was like iphone out of the box, you' ld return it immediately. No usefull SW unless apps are installed at cost while other Mobile OS have everything built-in. None of the apps enhance devices capability but rather take up so much space just to do one thing only. WOW whats the big deal about such weak device? It shows the 3G icon in the top left corner of the screen as connected, and yes, i have cellular data on. But i go to use anything and itll say "internet connection required".... USELESS!

I experienced this problem as well, and found out that 2 things work. One thing you can do is go into your settings and disable the 3G feature. Since you may not want to do this all the time, you can also reset the network settings. Right after i did this, my iphone started working and was good as new. The guy at the store said it was a temporary thing happening to many iphones.
