I am amazed at the incredible breakthroughs we continue to achieve, but frightened at the incredible breakthroughs we continue to achieve. I hope the best for any person suffering w/ this disease, and if this can help them as it appears then God speed.
I saw a couple of patients with deep brain stimulators last year as a first year medical student. It is probably the closest thing to a miracle as you can get in medicine. They had a tech turn them on and off and the difference was night and day in these patients.
Hello im Dr. haney i am a nero sergent the object of this is to get a small battery pack in the skull with a wire going into the brain when this gets turned on patients suffer less mussel spasims
lmfao if you're a surgeon you need to learn how to spell... NEURO, SURGEON, MUSCLE SPASMS. XD And you might want to do a little more research before you say what it's used for...Doctor... lmao
thanks. i did the plelim exams. going for my second mri. they said it is now a in one day and out the next day procedure. having both sides done. would be nice to be a rep for the company when the peocedure is complete.
had mine done here in houston texas, i was in the hospital for 3 days for the brain part and in for 2 days for the actual device implants, got both sides also, one device planted in my chest, other in my stomach, i was 17 when i had the surgery, its a long procedure, but def worth it, go bless and good luck to you
Jose, you'll probably never see this, but this man is by far not the first cyborg when referring to the medical definition. Actually, anyone who wears glasses or contacts is considered a cyborg since they are mechanical elements built into the human body in order to extend a human's limitations, which is indeed the definition of a cyborg.
This isn't a permanent fix but it does turn the clock back on the progression of Parkinson's several years. Usually about 7 years worth of progression will be countered by a pair of these properly implanted.
It is cool to see the first cyborg. I was not aware of such scientific developments. I am happy for him and I can't wait to see what advancements we create next.
this video is a great teaching tool in my neuroscience class!
