Hard to blame Castle, she had already made her decision. He had no way of knowing she woudl waver. I thought it was very telling the way he showed up with one cup of coffee and how Becket was stunned he did not have one for her. That is when she finally got the message that he was serious about taking a break.

beckett just seems so open in this episode. i dont really know if i would use the word open, i guess you could say she is so fragile and indecisive. she wants to be with castle, and when shes about to say "dont go", she gets interrupted. it just seems to me that they only say what they really feel when one of them is on the brink of leaving or dying

I just want to say, I understand this guy. Remember: neither the breakup with Demming nor any of the "I realize there may be more to this than I thought" scenes were seen by him. He made a series of last ditch attempts to lure her away from D., all of which failed. He discovered that she had not been honest with him. I don't blame him for deciding to give up for the present and *not* catching on to Beckett's brave attempt to confess. For all he knew, she was just being polite in that scene.

@0DoctorWhoFreak0 I disagree, I don't think the show would lose anything. I don't think it's quite the right time for them to get together yet, but I think in a season or two, it will be. If the writers feel that when they get together, they have to end the show, then they lack imagination. There are so many stories that can be told about a couple, all the ups and downs they'd go through.

I still don't understand why people hate Gina. Castle obviously thinks Kate is with Tom and she has been lying in order for things "not to be awkward". Castle, with everyone leaving, just wants a companion to join him in the Hamptons. Beckett refused several times and then Gina apparently accepts his invitation. For Castle, it's obvious that Kate is moving on with Tom so when Gina appears it's an opportunity for him to move on as well.
