  • the robocop role was tailor made for peter weller, and i like what kurtwood smith says about wellers performance as robo, solid as a rock physically and vocally, captures the feeling of the robot, i agree mr smith i agree, robocop a true masterpiece movie

  • I would like to an episode of "That 70s show" where Robocop makes a cameo appearance. Kurtwood Smith is unexpectedly arrested by Robocop who approaches him the same way he apprehended the guy that was upholding the mayor in the first film,..Robo detects him using Thermograph and comes crashing thru the wall like the Kool-Aid Man....."Clarence Boddicker!!!,..youre under arrest!!!"

  • I wish the studio executives would have been more patient to come out with part 2. If Verhoven was directing it he would have made part 2 a masterpiece.

  • It's not often that an actor really defines a character like Weller does with Robocop. It's not just that other actors portraying Robocop aren't as good at it. It's that they aren't Robocop; there can be no Robocop without Peter Weller playing him.

  • This was great! I love hearing about the artistry behind these kind of actions movies.

  • as most fans know, this film was shot in Dallas, Texas. ...OCP Headquarters is the current Dallas City Hall. ...to actually go there (like I have been), is like walking on sacred cinematic ground. ....something I recommend all fans of this film to also do.

  • First Born

  • I bought that for a dollar.

  • Funny how Welller is old, and Boddicker looks almost the same as in 1986!!!

  • Great stuff.

  • Peter Weller is epic robocop! And film by Paul Verhouven is epic movie like Matrix (original) without sequels.

  • The title of this video says it all!!!!!

  • You forget how much work goes into making a film, especially something like Robocop.

  • @FudgePackProductions to be honest, quite alot of work, working on an indy film of my own right now, and the production alone makes your head spin at the costs. though having the resorces that we do this day and age, aluminum without bound. or even heat hardened foam, you could make a pretty likeable new version of robocop easy enough.

  • @redrakerbz You're italian?

  • He says at the end, he's done five or six films he's really proud of. I hope Buckaroo Banzai is one of those.

  • Robocop is one PETER WELLER

  • I find it funny that Peter Weller hesitated before saying Robocop is one of the movies he is most proud of. Given the torture he had to go through to make the film, I'd hesitate too.

  • If there is a remake..Peter Weller at least deserves to be a part or be in the movie or scene no matter what, Peter Weller is and always will be Robocop..I hope the new movie comes original because I would hate seeing an actor talking the same lines that Peter said in the original

  • @FAproduction1

Yeah, pretty sure it would be good fan service too. Supposedly it's getting a reboot now; might appear around 2013.

  • @FuzShock

    I can't wait that long

  • @FAproduction1

Actually, I managed to pull up some information for you. It really does look like it's going to get a reboot.

Jose Padilla is working with a screenwriter on it. He has said that he will try to modernize the movie (which you can argue may or may not be a good thing). He wants to get Michael Fassbender to play Murphy/Robocop.

I honestly think the best thing they could do with the franchise is a video game and have Weller do the voice.

  • @FuzShock

Peter weller in a video game..where do i go buy this game!..that would so cool...Jose Padilla. didn't he do the movie The Fountain

  • @FAproduction1 yeah, he def deserves a cameo...perhaps he could play a sergeant at the precinct wecolming in the new "Murphy" into the bad part of Detroit.

  • @mireaux7 I was thinking maybe they could have Weller play Dick Jones with the reboot nobody would expect that!

  • Who here think robocop is better then the terminator

  • @MrUndertaker420 I see that as pointless its impossible to remake masterpeices.

  • Now I understand Peter's initial anger towards the filming of the movie who wouldn't be? But thankfully all the hardwork he especially put into it paid off, other actors do "okay" as robo/murphy but weller is always THE Alex Murphy/Robo

  • weller and the whole effects team and verhoven shoulda cleaned up major ammounts of academy and other awards for all their hard fought work on this masterpiece of cinema. just shows how out of touch and snobby the mainstream awards bodies are or were at the time. robocop is possibly the best movie ever made.
