If anyone actually thinks that A10 is dropping live bombs and firing his 30mm cannon at targets 300 meters from a spectating crowd i have a bridge to sell you. You've also watched too many action movies if you think those explosions are anything but pre-placed gasoline bombs.

Because for 40 years of service, we've only ever lost ONE in combat, and it still brought the crew home safely, landing successfully. It only took one of these to eradicate Sadam Hussein's entire military in Desert Storm in under 2 minutes. It's one of the most efficient weapons in air-to-ground warfare and a excellent deterrent against humans that are already determined to kill other human beings to begin with. I suppose you think the USA deploys these on people that are out picking daisies?

I thought the simulated cannonfire was kinda funny, but that "500lb bomb" was just a bit sad. It would've been better if the announcer said the A-10 was dropping napalm or something.

@bigplayer2382 Actually...no it is not live ammo. They were pyrotechnic charges placed on the ground that were set off by ground personal at the appropriate time in the show.

@bigplayer2382 live ammo? have you ever seen an A-10 fire it's cannon? The cannon is just as loud as the depleted uranium rounds it releases. When A-10 fire hits the ground, it's not show, it is the most powerful thing you will ever experience. This video is a firecracker by comparison. I would have liked it better if they took the fireworks away and just let me hear the hum of the A-10. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT. Those show planes never spun the cannon, hence, not live ammo.
