Newer players should definitely read the forums about this game before they begin playing. Bigpoint, the creator of this game has a long and sad history of fouling up games. It's very hard to get anything within the game unless you wallet warrior up. Just read their forums and make that decision for yourself. Just be aware that some spend thousands just to play. this game has server in the us and the eu, have only played on us servers....however, there are so many mexicans/brazilians/central and south americans running around on each US server, that it has become just a mess....the have no clue how to either communicate nor help anyone out that isn't a mexican. Don't bother, take your hard earned cash anywhere else.

They are just very lucky that millions of people tried BGO and spend some mony on it. Most of the people will leave after a few weeks because BGO is getting boring fast . No storyline missions only you get a prophecy every day . These are not real missions . Just pure PvP gets boring fast .
Anyway BGO proves that people dont care to spend real cash for a spaceship in a online game . They make lots of money now with BGO , hope they spend it for huge updates for BattlestarGalacticaOnline aswell.

@jangofett1234 Well I have been playing this game since closed BETA and have been hoping for the problems / bugs to be sorted out. At the moment its extremely lacking in content, unbalanced PvP, over crowded servers and systems are bugged / lagging to the point you cant go there. There are socket errors that have caused me to lose items that I have paid for with real cash, only for tech support to tell me I wont be getting them back.
It is a shame as it has the potential to be a great game.
I play eve and now i play this too. Keeping in mind that eve is older and more established this new game (battlestar) will also become or supass the greatness of eve. Tried the game and got hooked, definately worth playing. I bought 13 bucks of Cubits, might buy around the same every month, but buying Cubits isn't an end all, wallet warriors just get to the end-game equipment a bit faster.
would you pay more than anything to buy a console game, at least with the cartridge etc, you get what u pay for...hell, even the online games that i know of put all players on equal footing to start of with.....this game is just full of wallet warriors that want to make sure that you are just poor, unless you can catch up with them (you nvr will). Don't even bother, the game SUCKS!!!!! They claim to be free to play, but if you want to win, you have to buy their in game currency (cubits). There are plenty of people who have done that and have therefore ruined the game for everyone else. If you're going to play a space combat MMO, check out Star Trek Online. If you want dogfighting, get one of the games that is enjoyable (Ace Combat, Jane's WWII fighters etc).

I love this game, of course it has downsides, but not as many downsides as maybe WOW or EVE. This is perfectly balanced, more players are joining and whether you're in a line ship or a strike, you have a chance at taking on anyone. Yes there are wallet warriors, but they're usually the worst skilled and are definitely beatable. The game is constantly being built, as new stuff is added continuously. It's amazing for browser, people nowadays just have too higher expectations for freebies.

Quit whining people, it's a good game, it's 100% free and a lot of fun, you can buy extra ingame currency to save time, but it isn't required because you also get the currency when you defeat other players in PVP, NPCs in PVE or by doing the daily quest, looting from asteroids etc.

And warps gates are no more, faster ther light unit is on your ship, warp to a sector from ther middle of a map if you want.damn, yesterday was in 2 huge battles.. 100some ppl in a sector is nuts.
dont play this supposed free game unless you have massive amounts of money to waste on glitched crap. the developers will just change the rules on you, chat hardly ever functions correctly (never has), or someone else with even more money will just outspend you. Its utterly a pointless game.

I believe there's a term for shitplayers in BGO, they call them "Wallet Warriors" :3 I've noticed that for some reason, there are more Colonial players than Cylons. I like the game anyways, and even though it's free, my small gripe is how vessels fly in a 2D plane instead of real 3D.
@Brokkolesz ps the highest levell player I've seen in the game is 57, level 9999 doesnt exist.. And a level 10 can kill a level 15 easily,depending on HOW the ships are set up, And wich ones the better pilot.
I'm level 20, I've taken down level 35's before. not to hard with my basic rig
@Brokkolesz level 2 in a lvl 20 area? and there are no level 90's... still 3 level 10's could take it out because of the weay the system works.. the bigger and badder they are the slower they get.

what server you play on? No humans have ever come in our sector, the basestar would take about 100 lvl 50's to destroy. 50000 hitpoints plus 12 turrets that can kill in one or to shots..

this advert doesnt do this brilliant game justice.
Just finished a 4 hour long armada scale battle with nail biting suspense. I saw hundreds die, yet I did not fall and battled to the end.
We eventually broke through and launched an assault on their Outpost, cutting off their reinforcements.
we were victorious.

@jangofett1234 Well I have been playing this game since closed BETA and have been hoping for the problems / bugs to be sorted out. At the moment its extremely lacking in content, unbalanced PvP, over crowded servers and systems are bugged / lagging to the point you cant go there. There are socket errors that have caused me to lose items that I have paid for with real cash, only for tech support to tell me I wont be getting them back.
It is a shame as it has the potential to be a great game.

I play eve and now i play this too. Keeping in mind that eve is older and more established this new game (battlestar) will also become or supass the greatness of eve. I have bought cubits and come on they are cheap compared to all the aweesome games you have to pay for just to play. To all the people impressed with the trailer out there"GIVE THE GAME A GO"

Tried the game and got hooked, definately worth playing. I bought 13 bucks of Cubits, might buy around the same every month, but buying Cubits isn't an end all, wallet warriors just get to the end-game equipment a bit faster.

would you pay more than anything to buy a console game, at least with the cartridge etc, you get what u pay for...hell, even the online games that i know of put all players on equal footing to start of with.....this game is just full of wallet warriors that want to make sure that you are just poor, unless you can catch up with them (you nvr will). Bigpoint is a company and it isn't free (they LIE)

Don't even bother, the game SUCKS!!!!! They claim to be free to play, but if you want to win, you have to buy their in game currency (cubits). There are plenty of people who have done that and have therefore ruined the game for everyone else. If you're going to play a space combat MMO, check out Star Trek Online. If you want dogfighting, get one of the games that is enjoyable (Ace Combat, Jane's WWII fighters etc).

@1066Sherman Well,actually i tried the game yesterday for the 1st time and it seems really good so far.As for those wallet warrior "ruining" the game for everybody bear in mind that without them you wouldn t even be moaning about it.Games cost a lot of money to devellop it s only fair to contibute to it.But you cheap ass newbie will prolly not grasp that so get owned or log out and shup already :P

I love this game, of course it has downsides, but not as many downsides as maybe WOW or EVE. This is perfectly balanced, more players are joining and whether you're in a line ship or a strike, you have a chance at taking on anyone. Yes there are wallet warriors, but they're usually the worst skilled and are definitely beatable. The game is constantly being built, as new stuff is added continuously. It's amazing for browser, people nowadays just have too higher expectations for freebies.

Quit whining people, it's a good game, it's 100% free and a lot of fun, you can buy extra ingame currency to save time, but it isn't required because you also get the currency when you defeat other players in PVP, NPCs in PVE or by doing the daily quest, looting from asteroids etc.

@Me102288 More than most actually. Generally in an MMO you grind to the next level, or to get a better piece of equipment----in BGO you grind for WEEKS to get the 2nd worst ship, passing many levels & going through a lot of equipment on the way.

Basically the game is set up to be completely ridiculous if you don't spend RL money to buy a ship / equipment.

far as experience, only took a day to lvl from 19 to 20..your not mining 24/7 ar you? cuz its the slowest way to attain crediits/experiece..

actually your choice is cylon or colonial.. but yes you command ships that can be highly upgraded basically.
And sometimes get into some spectacular 300+ person sector fights.
fun for people who liked the orinal and updated tv series.Which apperently is 4.3 million ppl (how many are signed playing)

@Me102288 I loved Freelancer! I used to always have a dedicated server up. Was totally like an MMO. If only Microsoft hadn't of nerfed all the things that were planned for the game to get it shipping earlier.

@Me102288 Its pretty similar minus the targeting system. you lock on, arm you guns, and they fire automatically when ya get in range. And warps gates are no more, faster ther light unit is on your ship, warp to a sector from ther middle of a map if you want.damn, yesterday was in 2 huge battles.. 100some ppl in a sector is nuts.

Also, after lvl 5 every missions end, and you have to farm yourself to lvl 10 to get new missions...

I believe there's a term for shitplayers in BGO, they call them "Wallet Warriors" :3 I've noticed that for some reason, there are more Colonial players than Cylons. I like the game anyways, and even though it's free, my small gripe is how vessels fly in a 2D plane instead of real 3D.

@Brokkolesz ps the highest levell player I've seen in the game is 57, level 9999 doesnt exist.. And a level 10 can kill a level 15 easily,depending on HOW the ships are set up, And wich ones the better pilot.
I'm level 20, I've taken down level 35's before. not to hard with my basic rig

@Brokkolesz level 2 in a lvl 20 area? and there are no level 90's... still 3 level 10's could take it out because of the weay the system works.. the bigger and badder they are the slower they get.

what server you play on? No humans have ever come in our sector, the basestar would take about 100 lvl 50's to destroy. 50000 hitpoints plus 12 turrets that can kill in one or to shots..
you musta got pushed to a lousy server, like russia or germany :-(

I hate Bigpoint. There's no chance for non-payers to stand against payers in EVERY their game... Just name Darkorbit, Deepolis, Seafight and now this SHIT! Tried this... and I think if you just purchase enough cubits you can have everything the BEST immediately without any need to play... and that's Bigpoint's marketing... companies like Gameforge at least give a good play with fun and dont give a fucking "pay" options on every fucking page
