dude you couldn't be any more correct. I've seen Lotus a few times and they put on a decent show. I would say they are decreasing in quality of live shows. (or maybe it was just the awesome drugs at the festivals? lol) As compared to Phish. STS9 is AMAZING

I like lotus more than tribe cause theyre more dynamic.. the progression switches and keeps me in the music where tribe is just repetitive with one of the worst crowds ever(lots of offense intended for smelly hippies and drunk frat boys). Not to say I don't like tribe but take my fav song "Suma Daylight" super repetitive and the song, even live, changes very little, whereas Lotus has a tendency to completely change their progression and Lotus jam wayyyy more than tribe.
