@SoFarSoGoodSoWhat14 No. I think it was a way to help the audience to know which song they were about to sing. In the case of the Shea concert the "album before last" was Beatles For Sale since the current album would have been Help!.
@geofbrit59 It was a very humid night. I live in New jersey and "heard the concert" or at least the songs they played, standing n my backyard pool at night , wishing I would have been old enough to attend the concert myself.
As far as I know, this video of this song was cut from the film at the first edit and is gone forever, and maybe was never seen at all. But the audio survived. This is just other images from the film and some of other songs.
As far as I know, this video of this song was cut from the film at the first edit and is gone forever, and maybe was never seen at all. But the audio survived. This is just other images from the film and some of other songs.
And to think my Ex was there with all those insane girls who never listened but only screamed. She actually attended three Beatles concerts; not many can say that.
Carl Perkins original version was on his "Teen Beat" album released in 1958. The Beatles covered two other songs off that album as well. Matchbox, and Honey Don't.
The beauty of this video is that the sound is the monitor mix, the footage is pure beatlemania. This is raw and well done. It's a five star a la 1965. The vision is madness. The sound mix is what the Beatles heard on stage, not the typical. Good one.
This song and "She's a Woman" were cut from the film. This is alternate Shea footage matched up with the audio from Anthology 2, although Ringo's video footage has been cleverly edited to make it appear that he's playing this song.
How did you come to this conclusion?? There has never been any evidence of this. You would have been better off saying he couldn't sing Taxman or Old Brown Shoe because he hadn't wrote them yet.
George's song onstage was "Roll Over Beethoven" until Beatles for Sale, when he started doing "Everybody's Trying...," which was his song until "If I Needed Someone." It's that simple. John and Paul didn't prevent him from performing the others if he so chose.
A few songs were cut out of the TV screening but I heard the entire concert including all the support acts exists complete. The whole thing should have been released on the 40th Anniversary. Come on Apple! This is the analogue recording from the P.A.
That's because the footage never appeared on the ABC broadcast, as is evidenced in the fact that it's not on the bootleg audio but, is the only "Shea" performance to appear on the Anthology discs. There IS no known footage.
I think (I hope) you mean that the footage just isn't in sync with the audio because there is no known video for the present audio. Whoever put the video together had to use SOMETHING to get the job done. Real audio from non-existing footage of the show you are currently watching. Let's just say that.
It wasn't so much the amps but the sound reinforcement behind it i.e. the Shea house P.A SYS colum speakers wern't designed for pop music. If they had of got the P.A right (custom design) which did happen three days later in Atlanta Shea would have been a success.
It was a success certainly financially but a failure from a technical point of view. George got it right when he said 60% of the fans want to see AND HEAR US!
and they say girls go wild whn the see justin beiber wht a joke xD
