  • I attended one of her performances - what a classy lady!

  • One of the great ones who truly paved the path.

  • that is pure talent no gimmicks just soul stirring, powerful, heartfelt music!

  • woah!

  • Awesome.

  • Wow, I love Lena Horne. What a fabulous voice. Smooth as silk yet powerful such that you know she is singing with every single fiber of her being. Great post.

  • Lena gave it to us each and every time she performed this tune...never the same twice. Now, that's the hallmark of a performer.

  • wow. look at her while she sings, the music just seems to flow from her.

so many artists seem to be forcing it out, sometimes with disastrous results. But Ms. Lena Horne . . . .

  • If you believe...watch ms. horne. Believe.

  • she had the best vibrato. miss her. RIP Lena

  • I had the honor to hear this song sung by Ms. Horne for 2 years working with her on The Lady and Her Music Broadway Show...it was amazing that she did 2 hours and we did about 25 minutes of singing and dancing in this show. There are singers now that could take some lessons from her in articulation and flow with there singing. She was a true DIVA and I will always thank God that I was given the chance to dance and sing along side of this great legend. Thank you Ms. Horne and Auntie..ChinaDoll

Really theres a reason to life, world, and love?! Now i trust (in your vocal cords)., Lena.. Rest with us.

  • Looked all over everywhere, and have concluded this is the BEST rendition of "Stormy Weather" I have ever heard, which is fitting considering it was given by the woman who ORIGINATED the song way back when. And just to think, this woman used to doubt her vocal abilities... no way....... R.I.P. Lena!!

  • This misery...is just too much, it's too much for me *choked up

I LOVE HER! God BLESS Her LEGACY! I HOPE others LEARN and RESPECT THIS TALENT, and this SPIRIT and SOUL! LOVE LENA!! (all in tears now..)! C J

You did it all. You were beautiful and talented. You said when you died you were coming back as Tina Turner. Another bright shining star has just dimmed and went out down here on Earth. We love, honor, thank and will miss you Ms. Lena Horne.

  • May this beautiful talent rest in eternal peace.

  • "Stormy Weather" was a metaphor for the obstacles this remarkably gifted lady had to overcome.

  • What a talent!!! Rest In Peace!

  • Ms. Horne, we are grateful that you shared your wonderful gift with us and we are the better for you being there for us!!! What a talent!

  • we'll miss you Lena a great and classy lady

  • That's entertainment!

  • She sang Stormy Weather twice in the show. In the first act she treated it in the torch song manner we all know -- about what has been lost. In this iteration, the finale, she turns it into a song of defiance and triumph.

  • I saw this show twice. She was 65 when she did this and it ran for over a year in NYC. She did not allow air conditioning in the theater.

  • When you listen to her and compare it to what passes as music now a days, there is no comparison. RIP Lena.

  • It's funny/amazing/sad how her death brings people from out the woodworks to come comment on her videos and give thanks for her legacy and class, but when she was living, the comments were months apart. She has always been the tops and it's about time people see that.

  • You can tell that Life beat the crap out of her...sigh...she had so much class.....

  • She had it all

  • I cried this morning after hearing the news of this Great Classy Lady's death...

  • Can I like it more than once?

  • She always emulated such grace and class. You can't buy that. Either you have it or you don't.

  • She was such a class act!! Truly a beautiful woman

  • I'll bet the Lord is having a concert tonight! Rest in Peace Ms. Horne!

  • Ohhh I love it, I love it, I love it!

  • She is funny! She had such a raw edginess to her that just catapults every time you see her perform. Powerhouse voice that shatters the room

  • She is too much. Amazing. Flawless. Gritty and elegant all at once. A painful and beautiful and inspiring performance...

  • This is one of those concerts i wish I'd had the priviledge(and it is a priviledge) to attend. What have I missed ...?
