@gusto1978 Force Unleashed paid almost no attention to their story. The story in the first one (which had the better story) was mediocre. The story of the second one was just shit. Seriously, my brother and I came up with better stories while doing battles between GI Joes and Star Wars Transformers action figures. The gameplay is very fun, but i finished The Force Unleashed in about three hours and i finished The Force Unleashed 2 in half that time. Neither holds a candle to The Old Republic.

@CyphenPhsyX its more realisitic that way. i don't wanna hit 10 buttons to throw a saber slash at someone. the gameplay in force unleashed, god of war, darksiders etc is the funnest you can do. the skill is the strategy involved and the upgrades.
@CyphenPhsyX so what, there's no guideline that MMOs have to be the same gameplay. look at the new DC universe game coming out, it's action gameplay. and no they aren't FPS, call of duty is FIRST PERSON SHOOTER, those games are all played in 3rd person, action gameplay, hitting 6 button combos and such, there's nothing funner, its a blast. I hope this game is the gameplay of the force unleashed combined with the world like galaxies. DC universe is gonna make bank off of it.
As long as the gameplay is awesome then thats fine with me, the graphics look decent definely not the best. Its an MMO I give em credit and they probably made the graphics this way to fit a larger selection of puters

The funny thing is....this hasnt even been fully completed. Also there is so much detail in this game. So its going to be great. The only difference between this and WoW is....This is way better. :)
what i saw in the newest GPT for multiplayer: there will be NO options for talking... the characters just do it you cant even click. the graphics won't go better bc it's a massively big online game. you guys should know that...
and i really hope the game will be good bc they gave it such a super hype to seriously concurre diablo3.. the trailers are cinematic so i expect the same from the game.... though i'd wish to see a movie from the old republic times

Whoever made this had seriously no idea how to make a trailer. If 2 second gameplay bits showing just 1 or 2 attacks that lack anything that could be called impressive or amazing would be enough to convince someone that a product is good, the ad companies would all go bankrupt.
This trailer IMO doesn't do this game justice... I mean this is supposed to set the bar for every MMO ever and all we get is some crappy bits of gameplay? Where's all the awesome animation we saw at E3 2009? Show us some action!!!
After so many years of playing WoW, it'd be nice to have a change like this. WoW was fun for the first couple of years, then WotLK raped it, left it for dead, and Cataclysm, whilst looking like a good resurrection, will most likely be the same old shit of "LF1M DPS FOR DEATHWING LOLZ ROFLCOPTER!" endgame. so yeah, bring on TOR, coz as soon as it's out my WoW is being left to gather dust.

I have to say, games always look more impressive in the trailers, and this trailer looks like crap.
My words of advice to everybody out there waiting for this game - don't get your hopes up and keep your expectations as low as you can. I know this because time and time again I was tricked by MMORPG developers into thinking their game would be the be-all-end-all game to crush all other MMOs on the market. They make promises they can't keep and sell them to you for your copy and subscription fee.
@AntiTheory This is a really old trailer dude.This video was posted at the end of 2008, and the content they've been revealing as its been developing has been WAY more promising with every new development. I definitely agree that its easy to be swept up in the hype of a game only to have it fail to deliver later. With this game I think that between the fruitful creative space of the Star Wars universe (different from typical mythical setting) and the growth since SWG, there's some potential here
from what i saw to this moment swtor is much less addictive than WOW,for example we don't have that intense gamma of colours that attracts the interest of the player,we don't have those zillion missions in order to pass only 1 level,what we see is a worked gameplay,a very worked voice acting and i can say a very woked lore.
I think it should stay as a single player game... u go through servers and crap it will just dumb the game down... gotta keep the big choices and good vs bad like mass effect. Freeekin epic stories on both Kotor games... lets hope it gets even better! but the mmorpg could be interesting...maybe... possibly...
i dis/agree with you. Loggin in will take about 5 minutes and then it will lag in a way. BUT they shouldnt take out multiplayer if they willl put any in there. They should make it s a coice to play multi or single

I think they should have stayed with the old kotor style changeing it to an mmo will just destroy this game. Yea it's cool that you can play with other people but to me it just looks like World of Warcraft only with a light saber and force powers. Okay all the people who hate the graphics, for one when has an mmo ever have good graphics and not lag like hell, the point of lower graphics is to make the game playable AND enjoyable, games are supposed to be played because they are fun not for their graphics, as for SWTOR they are making up for the graphics with a new art style.
to all those who are complaining about the graphics of it not positive but I'm pretty sure this is just from the alpha version of the game, I'm assuming most of the people paying attention to what's being said knows that an alpha version is relatively early. Mostly getting the bugs worked out and all that, so the graphics probably will get better. As for needing a better computer to play it, that's how video games work. @slightofhand666 u have to think tho man, if they make the graphics insane on this, it is a PC game. Not every 1 has a computer that can handle a game with crazy graphics. It comes down to, do u want to play in a wasteland where there arnt very many people playing? Or will you suck up graphics that aren't as good as other games on the market so that you can have a better quality experience in an MMO. This is one of the reasons WOW was such a success. Some 1 with a crappy computer can play it.
this is only alpha testing so they may have not implemented all graphic options or they may be turned down because this is alpha testing they may prove to be better upon realses

After I don't know how many years of playing WOW, I'm so fucken over it. I was gonna try galaxies when the press for this came out so I'm basically waiting to see how this is. I've heard a lot of good things about SWG and I'm hoping this keeps with that innovation and they don't drop the ball for any reason. So far it looks great, but who knows.
I do agree with IanCooked however... more than a mmo, I would of preferred a SW sandbox/story game. Basically something like GTA meets Force Unleashed.

The game is simple, fun, contains lots of content, and there is always someone to play with + it looks good. After so many years of playing WoW, it'd be nice to have a change like this. WoW was fun for the first couple of years, then WotLK raped it, left it for dead, and Cataclysm, whilst looking like a good resurrection, will most likely be the same old shit of "LF1M DPS FOR DEATHWING LOLZ ROFLCOPTER!" endgame. so yeah, bring on TOR, coz as soon as it's out my WoW is being left to gather dust.

I have to say, games always look more impressive in the trailers, and this trailer looks like crap.
My words of advice to everybody out there waiting for this game - don't get your hopes up and keep your expectations as low as you can. I know this because time and time again I was tricked by MMORPG developers into thinking their game would be the be-all-end-all game to crush all other MMOs on the market. They make promises they can't keep and sell them to you for your copy and subscription fee.

@AntiTheory This is a really old trailer dude.This video was posted at the end of 2008, and the content they've been revealing as its been developing has been WAY more promising with every new development. I definitely agree that its easy to be swept up in the hype of a game only to have it fail to deliver later. With this game I think that between the fruitful creative space of the Star Wars universe (different from typical mythical setting) and the growth since SWG, there's some potential here

from what i saw to this moment swtor is much less addictive than WOW,for example we don't have that intense gamma of colours that attracts the interest of the player,we don't have those zillion missions in order to pass only 1 level,what we see is a worked gameplay,a very worked voice acting and i can say a very woked lore.

to all those who are complaining about the graphics of it not positive but I'm pretty sure this is just from the alpha version of the game, I'm assuming most of the people paying attention to what's being said knows that an alpha version is relatively early. Mostly getting the bugs worked out and all that, so the graphics probably will get better. As for needing a better computer to play it, that's how video games work. @slightofhand666 u have to think tho man, if they make the graphics insane on this, it is a PC game. Not every 1 has a computer that can handle a game with crazy graphics. It comes down to, do u want to play in a wasteland where there arnt very many people playing? Or will you suck up graphics that aren't as good as other games on the market so that you can have a better quality experience in an MMO. This is one of the reasons WOW was such a success. Some 1 with a crappy computer can play it.

After I don't know how many years of playing WOW, I'm so fucken over it. I was gonna try galaxies when the press for this came out so I'm basically waiting to see how this is. I've heard a lot of good things about SWG and I'm hoping this keeps with that innovation and they don't drop the ball for any reason. So far it looks great, but who knows.
I do agree with IanCooked however... more than a mmo, I would of preferred a SW sandbox/story game. Basically something like GTA meets Force Unleashed.

The game is simple, fun, contains lots of content, and there is always someone to play with + it looks good. The things I typed doesn't have anything to do with their policy, the game is addictive for some persons becouse they enjoy it. And thats a fact. Wrong bud. An SWG remake woulda made a hell of alot more money. The WOW crowd wasnt fortunate enough to experience the freedom SWG gave you.
Devs are too scared to try anything thats not WOW. And you know what? Anygame where players feel like it was a WOW clone all along only results in the player going back to WOW.
So no, WOW clones do not make more money. The devs of SWG tried to WOWify the game and with haste did the population reduce by a great amount. Now the game is near DEAD.

I think people like you simply hate the fact that an MMO could be bigger than how small WOW made an MMO to be. If players knew how much bigger an MMO could be SWG's style of gameplay could of spread to other MMOs. A game where a player could be unique.
I don't see how getting "better gear" is any incentive to pay 15 bucks a month. But that says alot about MMO players today unfortunately.

After wrath of the FAGKING (wotlk) came out the game finally used the BORING button and sent me in a pool full of bordem. I remember spending countless hours running around Dalaran doing nothing..its a good game if you take shit not so seriously. Raiding became easy as shit and Resilence fucked up PVP
