i just got my puppy shi htzu about 2 weeks ago and she only sleeps about 4 hours at night and then begins whing and barking at the door its very stressing someone plz help :]
hey, i just bought a shih-tzu. i put it in a crate only at night. my friend says that if i dont train it to make it understand that that is his sleeping home, he will never sleep in a crate. but when i leave him there, he whines and scratches. in the wee hours of morning, he will bark for attention. he is only 8 wks old. should i put in him in a crate for now????
Def leave your puppy in the crate at night. This will make him or her learn that the crate is a safe place. NEVER NEVER NEVER punish the puppy and than put them in the crate. Its tuff hearing them cry but its worth it in the long run....
I definately agree. When I first got my shih tzu, Roscoe, he just kept whining whenever i left home or began sleeping. This annoyed my dad. So we just left him in a really big (and i mean big) basked to let him know it safe to sleep there. it was worth the entire whining and whimpering sessions.
when i first got peek-a-boo,i let him sleep in mah room,but he got older so,IN TEH BASKET WID HIM! so he started whining and after a couple of days,he settzled in his newspaperie basket X3
i agree with gizmolya its best to leave them there and you have to leave them to cry if you go to them they will wise upto it and carry on. some people find putting a blanket just on the roof of the crate helps too... sounds strange i know x
