hey, just a note, sitting trying to learn this part myself, and i think that at the end of the first pattern(left hand i on tenth fret), listening to the track, i acutally think he finishes with 20 on the B string..

When i saw them live i was right in front of the guitarist, I could almost touch him. He uses his ring and middle finger when he taps, I've tried it and it's just way too ridiculous. Fuckin' love Russian Circles.

@HeadPhoneBoy112 Try switching to your neck pickup. Im using a similar setup and it picks up tapping easier on the neck pickup.

I personally call it "garbage tapping" when I do it... but most call it finger tapping, touch-style, or two-hand tapping.

its also a water down version of polyphonic tapping i think im not too sure nice tapping its a bitch to tap that out
