  • Does anyone remember the days before mass media music was available? Performing artists had to actually perform to make money (doing gigs, going on tour), there was no record deals, no label enslavement... I think performing artists should make their money from performing.

  • If only piratebay had their own version of youtube.......that will be sweet

  • the filesharing tecnology will "mutate" and always stay one step in advance compared to the companies trying to shut it down.

  • LMFAO! The idea that these billion dollar music and film distributors think they can tell us they're analogous to a defenceless woman walking down a dark lonely road at night, just shows how much contempt these people have for our intelligence.

  • filesharing=idea sharing=good thing

im all for taking down capitalist mass media

    BUT

we need to pay small artists or they will starve and mass media and censorship will thrive...torrents or no torrents :(

    How can we do this?

  • Easy, if the band is good, file sharing will open that band up to a much larger audience. A lot of people if they like what they hear will buy the music anyway, but if you really want to support the band, you should buy their merchandise that way the greedy record companies won't steal 90% of it. Also with a larger fan base, more people will go to live concerts. Artists can benefit from file sharing, many have.

  • @shadycallum: we could need somthing like flatter for bittorrent.

  • @shadycallum

A lot of smaller film producers and film students are making their films available for free online and asking for donations to fund future film's, if you liked what your saw. The films look great, slick and are very well edited for the most part. You can create Hollywood style effects now with relatively little money. You wouldn't make millions this way but you could earn a good living.

  • @shadycallum

they send their shit for free, and accept donations. Seems to work pretty well in the indie game dev scene, why not the music and film? If it's good, people will support, but produce shit, expect shit.

  • This is the best film I have seen all year.

  • Nice production values and interviews, absolutely horrible analogies.

  • LOL that Chinese guy got jacked!!

  • they are your right ginger they did it in the first movie too

  • did you know you could have uploaded the whole thing here without cutting into small chunks , i am doing that today , , thanks for still uploading it here ,

  • Was there subliminal messages at the start? i've been thinking about terrorists since i last watched it.

  • Edison, in turn, went on to invent filmmaking, and demanded a licensing fee from those making movies with his technology. This caused a band of filmmaking pirates, including a man named William, to flee New York for the then still wild West, where they thrived, unlicensed, until Edison's patents expired. These pirates continue to operate there, albeit legally now, in the town they founded: Hollywood. William's last name? Fox.

    Amazing fact isn't it....LOL, LOL

    With love, from Great Britain.

  • Superb!

Web 1, static data. Web 2, writeable data.

Already we're seeing copyright suffer, as content is separated from form.

Who has copyright on a Mash up? One that's more useful and has greater value that the copyrighted material.

Is it a 3rd product, I'd say so, as its fundamentally different, and serves a different purpose.

Data is set to double every 72 hours in the near future. So what purpose will it be to copyright something that's instantly obsolete?

  • fund the distribution of music, leading to the internet doing the same? Will music change forever as we know it? Will movies still be made if no one pays for them? Will attached advertisement be the sole reason that free entertainment will be able to make money.

  • is more than eager to have people listen to their music regardless of the price tag. But will a movie continue to be made if they cease to make money? Will the quality shift first occur, with cheaper actors replacing those more expensive actors? Will the Music industry no longer

  • If eventually the purchase of media was to cease, allowing the world's population to access it without direct payment; will that not lead to professional celebrities being replaced by unknown celebrities. A singer, who decides to stop making music for free, will easily be replaced by an eager singer who

  • Infomation is supposd to be free.. i am not talking about movies ect.. but i talking about companys copyrighting the DNA from aniamls becuse it can do a cool thing that will make money... everyone else has to pay them to do anything with it anything WTF... FREEDOM PPL.

Just one thing at a time is not much but bring out the balance sheet and we are getting screwed!
