heh heh, and and who is to blaim? you! who woted him in? You did!! he has not done anything wrong, you did, by woting him in. wote black next time, unless you are really, really, really dumb as a diesel powered motorcycle
No don't fuck him, KILL HIM then get his corpse and drag it all around America, behead the corpse and HANG his fuckin head to the public so everyone can shame him, then BURN his corpse together with his head.
Bush, your first instinct was correct. You should let the system correct itself. What you are dooming us and our children to is a slow economic death rather than crappy decade followed by opportunity. The root problem has not changed. Our citizens are overspending with no accountability. Now I have to pay for my own home along with others becease they were do stupid not to get in a bind. Our great grandchildren will never see the end of this. People & companies should be held accountable.
Ron and Ralph Fool's Overture. History recalls how great the fall can be, while everybody's sleeping the boats put out to sea. Borne on the wings of time, it seemed the answers were so easy to find. "Too late" the prophets cry, the island's sinking let's take to the sky. Called the man a fool, stripped him of his pride, everyone was laughing up until the day he died. And though the wound went deep, still he's calling us out of our sleep.
AIG given a loan or mortgage of $84 Billion at 12% interest. Suddenly $500 Billion made out of nothing or a $84 Billion loan. Debt into money. Nothing is backing the $500 Billion Bail out.
One would think at least after the war in iraq 9/11 Bush at least would defend free markets and let people be responsable for their own risk taking but no... more regulation and govt intervention he's full of BS.
Georgian affair was pretty helpful to McCain ratings, and if we start bombing Iran or other evil empire(s) (Venezuela, Korea, Russia) this will certainly help.
Bush-McCain Blues Brothers are on a mission from God. Or so they think? Thank you for bailing WS poker players, now GM wants a bailout too...
I can think of no good reason for the government to do this. If a business fails, maybe it's because it's no longer viable in today's market. It doesn't take an economic genius to understand that propping up a failing corporation with borrowed funds is a bad idea. In the short term it'll prevent a ripple, in the long term, however, watch out for the tsunamis. It's nice to know that our elected representatives are working hard to preserve executive golden parachutes at great cost to you and me.
The trouble is that many big business have open ended risk in the market and are not transparent. The original business that they are doing is good but the risks that they take are not.
It is those risks that drag the overall business down.
Gawd I feel stupid for voting for this traitor. He actually says "I was a big problem" as if its already over. Gawd I was wrong, I should have not voted it doesn't even matter anymore, I think the American people need a bold new plan called "Revolution" not Obama or McCain. Revolt!
Hahaha another brilliant Bush plan! Just create fear in people so politicians can make people pay for the huge debt of his greedy banker pals. As if it's the end of the world cause a few banks go bankrupt!!
With 3 trillion dollars that's enough to give EVERY american a decent health plan or anything else. If they gave it to people it's like 10k for every single american, 10k for every parent, kid, retired etc.
If congress approve this nonsense Bush/FED plan they deserve to lose the elections
another way the rich got the government to bail em out from their free for all greed of raping the US economy and Treasury. they knew there would be a point of collapse where the free flow of money couldn't be sustained and that Bush & company would push thru a bailout for fear of a banking meltdown. The stock market has become a casino and a financial manipulation scheme. big problem - astronomically high adjustable mortgage interest rates
Allowing one to go is a good way to warn others in the future not to take it for granted that the government will always help. no matter how big the cooperation is, the government is willing to let them fail.
That makes little to no sense. 700 "B"illion + dollars to everyone else. Bear Stearns in March, then Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac... Lehman Brother's left holding their balls in their hands... Merrill Lynch, AIG et al... everyone except Lehmans. There is something WAY more than just a warning.
I am trying to make a point that Bush doesn't give a shit about the average person. I don't need an explanation about how the marketplace works... I've studied it and endured it, and can form my own unbiased, un-brainwashed opinion. Stop pretending like you understand this shit so well...your comments are awful.
it is a shame that people who knows how the market place works is trying to speak in a way that sounds as if he doesn't know a thing so as to mislead others who doesn't know as much.
Bush is not taking the best choice , by giving more drugs to the addict you wont cure them the bush solution is just a painkiller , and the effect will be devastating for the wolrd wide economy, he is just a step more to crash the system , he will start a war on iran and russia to make the war machine industry to save the market
How could he not understand that it would have far reaching consequences from the beginning? Why does he expect Congress to work with him now? They haven't worked with him on all the pertinent issues...even the issues that weren't pertinent.
Please help me to understand what you mean...America will survive as a nation...Survival is a basic human instinct. This is not a country that is 'ruled'. Maybe I am still being a bit idealistic, but this is a democracy. By the people, For the people. This is a man on his way out of office, trying to put a band aid on a gushing wound. He doesn't want it to effect the working class and that is who has been hit hardest. He isn't realizing that. But this also effects the world, maybe he will get it
It is perhaps the best thing to do at the moment if you are concern about an average person on the street. If this collapse take place, all your savings for old age plus your insurance will be gone. Tell me how much more money will you have to fork out to feed them into the future?
If it happen, do you think you can buy anything at all with your US dollar?
I am not sure what to say to you....But this I know...I am an average person that has no insurance and am an educated person who can't get a job because this economy SUCKS. My father, who served this country, can't make ends meet because the government is taking his money away from him. Tell me, o wise one, what are they doing for us? The people who helped to build this country? The ones they are forgetting? Let the banks fall...we built it up once, we can do it again.
What you say is correct. There are always two groups of people on the extreme end. It is not wrong to wish it your way.
In fact this is really the bottom of problems in USA. The difference is too great. The government has to look into this to narrow down the differences.
This began on Main Street America...not Wall Street..it filtered up. Banks gave money to people who could not afford to pay. People who wanted that big pie in the sky...The payouts on the other 'extreme end' were for people that wanted more than their fair share. Asking us, the taxpayers of America to foot this bill, I'm sure is making the founding fathers of this country spin uncontrollably in their graves. This is not a "Bottom of the Problem" as you say...it is now global with AIG in it.
oh, and death to bush!

Bush says at approx: 0:40 - "It turns out that there are a lot of interlinks throughout the financial system". !!! What?
Really? Interlinks? In our financial system?
This guy has an MBA and he has been President for nearly 8 years.

So why was Lehman the one and only NOT to be bailed out? Did their lobbyist not put enough money in the Republican's coffers?
