Sure maybe they are iconic but the whole point of Warhammer 40,000 is that you choose your army and form a bond with it through playing with them. If you're forced to be 1 of the dozen or so armies then only the minority will get to be their first choice.
Personally I think being encased in an XV8 battlesuit with customizable weapons is way cooler!

1. Space Marines don't die before they're put inside a dreadnought, they are mortally wounded.
2. Their armor isn't impervious!
3. They are not relic keepers. Whenever a world's normal defenses won't cut it, the marines are sent in for a quick and desicive strike into the heart of the enemy. They are not eternal guardians of relics. Unless their fortress monestary happened to be a relic or something. The Custodes are the defenders of the Emperor's remains on Terra. Thats it

@Shadowgrip55 They are basically in the same kind of preservation mode as the emperor himself inside his golden throne. Sure, they can be called "dead" since they are merely kept alive by a machine. A good example would be Captain Thule from Dawn of War 2. He got injected with Tyrannid venom and to be kept alive, he had to be sealed in the dreadnought sarcophogus. His body was too injured by the venom to operate on its own. Thus, marines aren't brought back to life.
If they include customization and multiple multiplayer races for competitive play... Hell, I'd buy the store that sold them... Just, to buy the game if I had to.

Take Fire warrior for instance, it had tons of fluff that is accurate to the codex you can grab from GW. That and it has some pretty good stuff about the space side of 40k.
yea if you read more about it you would find out and find it more believeable. Space Marines are genetically modified and their power armour is basically a second skin. Also the power armour has servo-motors inside so example if they are running the armour is doing most of the work.

Im sorry but WHAT THE FUCK!, space marines are put in dreadnoughts when they are mortally wounded, not dead, its only when they are alive, but can no longer fight how they are, and ceramite is by no means impervious i mean in 40k, nearly every weapon but the imperial guard lazer quest gun can go right through ceramite, it just gives the space marine better maneuverability, and terminator armour only has a percentage of ceramite, and contains a lot of adamantium which is closer to impervious...
look for resorces, build something, build a bigger army, destroy, end of game. boring. its a shame, the story of space marines is great but all warhammer games are like playing a futuristic age of empires or command and conqure. why not make a game based on battle tactics like sudden strike or rome total war where more money and bigger armys count for nothing on the battle field

the only information relevant to the game given is that the engine and development team are built from the ground up and that the game focuses on campaign multiplayer and brutal combat (no shit, look at the trailer, its 3rd person, which is ALWAYS brutal action)

Well I think the reason they use only them two chapters because.... Ultramarines were the first spacemarines and Blood Ravens don't have a history of their primarch.
The Ultramarines weren't the first Chapter (actually Legion when the Sm were founded). The Dark Angles were, although they were not called the Dark Angels until being re-united with Lion El'Jonson. There was a reason why the Dark Angels were called the I Legion. They were the first to be founded.
I hope they'll eventually do a game focused around the Imperial Guard. Though at the same time, this looks like a bit of a Glorified Dynasty Warriors game.
Originally this game was Space marines vs. Chaos space marines, but from what i can see and read it is only going to bee orcs not chaos. Such a shame!

yes a space marine is a super human with 3 lungs 2 hearts and can spit acid. they protect words and they assault planets that are held by the forces of chaos and other xenos. the emperor is the incarnated imbodiment of 1000s of shamans from the old world he is kinda half dead half alive and a god. hope that helps and plz ignore the bad grammar and spelling

chaos space marines were normal marines they turned against the imperium in the horus heresy, the imperial guard are described as the hammer of the emperor as the crush thier foes with numbers and a shit load of big guns, space marines are designed for quick strikes into the heart of the enemy against impossioble odds hope you found that helpfull
In 40k space marines are the elite armies of the emperor. They have the best armor, the best guns, not necessarily the best tanks but are one of the most flexible and durable in 40k. Space marines specialize in quick lightning strikes.
The Imperial guard and human soldiers (like you and me) don't have the best armour, or weapons but do have the best tanks(my opinion) imperial guard relies on vast numbers to overwhelm their enemies and specialize in pinning everything on one big battle

Why do every one say the Imperial Guard is worthles.
Whitout the Imperial Guard the space marines would be overrun cause they are to few. The Imperial guard lose thousands of soldiers every day.
If the Space Marines are to fight all the battles the Imperial Guard are fighting they would mostly only have one soldier on evrey battle.

The Ultramarines weren't the first Chapter (actually Legion when the Sm were founded). The Dark Angles were, although they were not called the Dark Angels until being re-united with Lion El'Jonson. There was a reason why the Dark Angels were called the I Legion. They were the first to be founded.

yes a space marine is a super human with 3 lungs 2 hearts and can spit acid. they protect words and they assault planets that are held by the forces of chaos and other xenos. the emperor is the incarnated imbodiment of 1000s of shamans from the old world he is kinda half dead half alive and a god. hope that helps and plz ignore the bad grammar and spelling

Where the chaos marines originaly was normal space marines or something else?? Also if the space marines are meant to be the sword of humanity then is the imperial guard meant to be like a sheild?? And are the space marines meant to be like the reinforcements?? Hope you don't mind me asking :)

chaos space marines were normal marines they turned against the imperium in the horus heresy, the imperial guard are described as the hammer of the emperor as the crush thier foes with numbers and a shit load of big guns, space marines are designed for quick strikes into the heart of the enemy against impossioble odds hope you found that helpfull

In 40k space marines are the elite armies of the emperor. They have the best armor, the best guns, not necessarily the best tanks but are one of the most flexible and durable in 40k. Space marines specialize in quick lightning strikes.
The Imperial guard and human soldiers (like you and me) don't have the best armour, or weapons but do have the best tanks(my opinion) imperial guard relies on vast numbers to overwhelm their enemies and specialize in pinning everything on one big battle

I mean like do they protect worlds or just go out and kill everything?? Also can someone explain to me who is the god emperor guy ??
