  • killer riff!

  • I love neil young acoustic work, especially the dead man sound track, and this version is awesome, but the buffalo springfield original is far superior, it has an irreplaceable energy and psychedelic vibe, when those elements are removed the appeal is diminished

  • AMAZING! whoever disliked this has no soul.

  • Neil, you are so Rock 'n' Roll.

  • living legend, always go to see him when he plays Glasgow

  • yay buffalo springfield!!!!!

  • thumbs up if you muted that shit at the begginging

  • demais

  • cool as the other side of the pillow

  • spine tingling epicness

  • What a great tune .This version is superb in my opinion

  • Not a Stones song Shakey.

  • All the people saying the acoustic version is better I agree. Neil Young will go down as a legend no question.

  • god, i love this version...classic neil at his best!

  • This acoustic version is outstanding.

  • jesus resurrected....and still a cool ass dude

  • That's a dirty and filthy harmonica sound, love it!

  • Sry Bellcm, I have been looking for it myself for a long time and with no avail. If you haven't seen it yet thought check out Heart of Gold, Parmount produced it; it isn't Unpluggeed (which is epic) but it's quality stuff worth seeing if your a NY fan.

  • and by the way. Just a little food for thought. The acoustic that he is playing in this video is Hank Williams Sr. guitar. Don't know about ya'll but that's kinda cool that Neil would do his live acoustic show with a guitar like that. showing the respect and appreciation to those that paved the way. And about the song... Very beautifully done Neil :)

  • DAD????

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW OR CAN TELL ME WHERE I CAN SEE THE WHOLE SHOW PLEASE TELL ME THANK YOU

  • he needs more url hits for as great as he is

  • Neil remains the man.

  • What a great tune .Best version i,ve heard and seen .Neil Young is not the king he is The Emperor

  • BOSSIN IT UP WITH THE LEATHER !!

  • Such a great version, though when I want to rock out, I always pick the original.

  • Neil is king!!!

  • Two people clearly dont have a soul.

  • Transcendental!

  • when i listen to Neil playing the harmonica in this song my body begins to twitch and shiver and i make all kinds of weird faces.

    'nuff said.

  • @yamamonkey - Right on man, it's impossible not to twitch, hunch, emulate, and at the very least, grimace. :D

  • @yamamonkey it makes me cry i then use the tears as lube to wank with

  • @iRideDonkeys1 Sick as hell but funny

  • What a great tune .Neil Young has done loads of versions of this tune but i think this is amongst the best i,ve seen or heard.

    regards

    jimmy

  • @TheSom03 You jinxed it!

  • neil wasn't even in Buffalo Springfield!

  • @nickthecomedian yes he was

  • @nickthecomedian lol He wrote the song...and was one of the founders of Buffalo Springfield along with Stills, know your shit buddy.

  • @nickthecomedian DUH he WAS

  • Classic Neil. No props no nothin! Pure natural gold.

    This is GOLD.

  • where can you find all the songs to this

  • fuck vevo

  • Neil's best version of arguably his best song, originally recorded with Buffalo Springfield. Simply unbeatable.

  • This was the concert in 1993 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

  • ouch...this is the real deal.....

  • Swampy blues at it's best!

  • what a great tune ,still get the feeling listening to this years after first hearing it.

    regards

    jimmy

  • I much prefer this version than the 'Trans' album version.

  • correct

  • this is in dropped d, correct?

  • @Immigrant312 double dropped d

  • I saw the Buffalo Springfield in Galveston, Texas 1967, I think. It was my first concert. I loved that band and knew their material, they did this song, Neil Young was wearing a suede jacket with long fringe that flew when he danced and twirled on the stage. I also love On the Way Home, Expecting to Fly, and Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing, tho I really prefer Fever Tree version! Thanks, I enjoyed hearing this.

  • smile on my face turned to plaster-omg-cool times rock,,peace

  • Hello MR SOUL

  • is this available on DVD anywhere?

  • is this available on DVD anywhere?

  • 0 dislikes. thats what I like to see.

  • Oh Yea

  • Mr Neil Young is absolutely amazing and always has been, he knows what is going on in the world and puts it in to words for all of us Young lovers to enjoy and think about. I don't understand people who don't like him. That is the beauty of America we can all enjoy what we like best.. hmmm I just wish people would agree to disagree and leave it at that. We all just want happy family happy lives. Bless you Neil!!! always....

  • Favourite part is 2:07, the slight, but distinct tension right before the harmonica kicks in makes the climax awesome.

  • This song is so beautiful and underrated. One of his best :)

  • happy holidays from the youngs

  • get the commercials off neil young videos. disgraceful.

  • and i let her

  • Best accoustic song ever .

    regards

    jimmy

  • Great video...

  • This song was not wrote in his solo career but ( what still goes on :P )but in the time when he was in buffalo springfield

  • why in crowds just a trace of my face could seem so pleasing

  • wow what else can i say...happy belated birthday...but wow...

  • Happy Birthday Neil!

  • BIG

  • All his drop-D songs like One of These Days, Ohio & Cinnamon Girl have a dropped 1st string as well, so the tuning is D A D G B D. It's not 100% necessary to do that every time, but some of the spookier chords (like the verses in Cinnamon Girl) only work with that tuning.

  • yes seeing buffalo springfield in a couple more hours

  • Badass Neil.

  • what key is the harmonica?

  • @bogtrax its in the key of G i think

  • @destihado1 its in D...

    drop d tuning as well

  • @ItsEvanful you must be right, it seems he plays the Dmaj chord as the root in the guitar. Thanks for the correction!

  • I absolutely love this deconstructed version of this song. Neil is a genius.

  • Good on him for writing it but Buffalo Springfield did it waaaay better

  • amazing song !

  • so from what i see the way he plays is in drop d tuning

  • Is it strange I should change, I dont know, why don't You ask Her...

  • Somebody please message me these chords and tuning !!!

  • @iRECKONER EADGHE

only chords you use here are D, F and G.

  • @josipnikolic2007. What is EADGHE?

  • @iRECKONER err... it's the tuning... which you just asked for.

  • @iRECKONER although, good luck tuning to H.

  • @misterbizzones neil young plays almost exclusively in the key of H.

  • @josipnikolic2007

    hahah an H? xD

  • I love this version!

  • This song does not fuck around! The harp takes it over the top.

  • Neil. Love.

  • I'm just saying that's the wheel I believe, that's the wheel I remember

  • iconic

  • iconic.

  • @apieroR yeah the influence would have to go the other way since this song was first recorded in early 1967 I think and Kurt Cobain was born that year.

BTW Neil is a rock composing and guitar demi-god, one of the greatest ever, but Nirvana was/is great music too....

  • @carloscarlos13 know that, but have you heard the original version? not realy the same...

  • I dont think you no how old this song is apiero but at least your starting to listen to great music youll get there

  • it's strange , but here in this song, there's like a nirvana or a cobain influence...

  • @apieroR other way around....

  • @apieroR definitely the other way around

  • stick around while a clown who is sick does the trick of disaster

  • Songwriters could study this rhyme scheme for days. Such a great tune with emotion that only Neil can bring. Some people say they don't like his voice...I don't see it....I love listening to Neil. I also love the topics he brings to the table...don't think he'd get signed to a major label today just because he'd draw too much attention to things that power doesn't want to talk about...ha ha...gulp.
