@gooeyshoe16 I recorded this game back in 2005 with my VCR. That game was incredible and lots of NBA talent on both rosters. Channing Frye, Salim stoudamire, Hassan Adams, Mustafa Shakur, Deron Williams, Dee Brown, But the guy who has really made the biggest impact in the NBA is Deron Williams.

I had West Virginia in the Elite Eight that year after their impressive run in the Big East Tournament. Had a perfect West Regional that year as well. Great game, great season, and outstanding run by the Mountaineers that year. Good luck to you this year from a Seton Hall fan.

I could have not said it better myself. You are right on with this comment. I dearly miss that West Virginia team. You could tell how close that team was when the players on the bench were locking arms and kicking their feet in the air like 12 year old at the end of that game. Mike Gansey remains my favorite athlete of all time; he had so much class and heart and he was one of the smartest and most skilled players I have ever seen.

That line rang in my head for the rest of the night as I watched one of the greatest tournment games in recent years. And watching that video brought back sooo many great memories of that amazing WV team. Mike Gansey is probably my all-time WV player (along with Pittsnogle). My goodness that team was so much fun to watch, as was that unforgettable game (and tourney run). Let's go Mountaineers!

I agree whole heartedly. I was and still am at WVU and I was bummed before the game when I found out who we had to play. That Wake team was incredible and it took nearly everyone on our team to have the game of their lives in order to escape with a W. Wake was very very good.

That WVU team was extremely fun to watch for about 3 years before belien took off for Michigan. Now neither team is great to watch. That scrappy group was special.

That WVU team was fun to watch. The shooters and the game was played from the perimeter. I go to WVU and I seriously doubt you watch 1/10th as much WVU ball as I do. I love the Beilein outside shooting game, but Hugs is a different type of coach and now the game is largely played above the rim. Wake will be good once again and if you seriously think we aren't fun to watch, check out the NUMBER 9 RANKED team in the country this year.

easily. The elite eight that year was the best ever and to this day it stands. Kentucky Michigan state and the 25 bounces the ball took to go in, Louisville :) in that historic comeback against WVU (sorry WVU fans) and the grand daddy of them all, Illinois and Arizona. Wow thats what i call to this day "heartbreak city" Poor 'Zona lol.

I'll never forget that day as long as I live. March 19, 2005 was the day my brother died he was 25. I love those guys on that team they helped me through the worst day of my life. I love the Mountaineers I consider them a part of my family. Lets go Mountaineers!

Wow. At the end of both regulation and the end of the first overtime, the commentator said it was a "worst case scenario" for WVU to go into an overtime. I wonder what the best case scenario would have been.

No he didn't. The commentator said that West Virginia wanted to make sure that the worst case scenerio was that they go to overtime. What he meants was that West Virginia had the last possession, and the last thing they wanted was to miss a shot and give Wake a chance to win it in regulation.
