@puroproductions114 I agree with you that maybe this performance could be better but in the show when I saw it he was great. In the show Elvis is just hanging out with his buddies and not performing for anyone really so I dont think the energy needs to be extremely high. Everyone has seen the high energy Elvis with a huge stage presence, Eddie gave us a taste of what Elvis was like offstage.

@puroproductions114 Codys playing Elvis but in the National Tour. Eddie is still playing Elvis on Off-Broadway. And I do agree Cody is a better Elvis, but Eddie has a lot going for him as a solo artist. But yeah if the tour comes your way definitely check it out, Cody will not disappoint you

I watched this performance on Letterman, but somehow I missed that Johnny Cash was being portrayed by Lance Guest, a.k.a. "The Last Starfighter." I had such a crush on him after that movie, and hearing him sing like that brings it right back. :-) I just wish that I could have seen the musical.

Just for the Johnny Cash song, thats a technique they used on some of the early Sun records to simulate drums. Also was a time when the Grand Ole Opry didn't allow drums, that was a way to at least get a rhythm sound.
