OPHCrack is nice, but when it fails to work or takes too long, there are ways to just bypass or reset passwords by replacing certain files in the System32 folder. Just google it.

If you use a password over 8 characters long, including letters and numbers, ophcrack takes so long to crack it, it's hardly worth it. It's really only useful if you forget your own password and have the time to run the software on your own computer.

The free version of ophcrack is useless too, unless the password is 5 characters or under - being all letters or all numbers. Any more than that you'll need to pay for the full program. Also, cracking your own 5 letter password is hardly hacking !
