@sgcwproductions1 It is because the tail lights are made up of LEDs. To the human eye, the tail lights look normal (are on constantly). However, because the tail lights are made up of LEDs, they appear flash when taken on a camera.

If you watch videos of Audis with their daytime running LED headlamps, they would also appear to flash on camera.

@marianabbyxx -- the rear lights are LED clusters. They blink on and off in time with the alternating current much quicker than a conventional incandescent bulb. And while they blink rapidly enough to be imperceptible to the naked eye, it creates a strange effect when the frame rate of a video camera is out of sync with the blinking rate of the LEDs. It's the same effect as when a video seems to show a car's wheels as stationary or even slowly spinning backward while the car is driving forward.

@xiilazyalex OK, I'll try. The Panamera's rear lights are light-emitting diode (LED) clusters. Seen in person, LEDs appear to just be "on." In reality, they are blinking so rapidly the naked eye cannot tell they're blinking.

Smilarly, video works by capturing a rapid series of still images. In playback, displaying these images in rapid succession mimics motion. In this vid, the LEDs are blinking out of phase with the camera frame rate. Some frames capture them lit, some capture them unlit.

@RunEmUpTapster LED lights are not constant output. Video Cameras capture the flickering that the naked eye cant. Even still its happening several times per second so it makes the lights look like they are wavy especially when current is taken away from the tails to aid other electronics while accelerating.
