Porsche Turbo king of overpriced SUV's, this and the FX whatever still slower than the lightly modded jeeps, and a full 1.5 seconds slower than comparably modded jeeps. with a cool $50,000 in you pocket for whatever moves you,The Techart stuff is beautiful though, no doubt.

You are (pretty much) correct. Up until 2008-09 "CUV" models exploded (like the Acura ZDX, BMW X6, Audi Q5, etc -- which should be slotted vs the EX or the Toyota Venza, not the FXs - not to mention the FX has yet to undergo a full redesign).

Till 2008/09, the FX45 was THE fastest N.A.-engined production SUV. Also had the highest overall HP output and the best "lb-per-hp" ratio of any N.A.'d-SUV. And super reliable, unlike Porsche/VW/Audi.

A Cayenne TURBO is ~$120K, a loaded FX45 = $60+K.

FX is not related to a Murano, it's based on the FM platform with the Z/G.

Uhh I don't think the fx was even made for heavy offroading :S I think the cayenne is more into that kind of stuff.. The fx is more in the line of the x6.. sure you can take em to the beach or your ocasional gravel road but lets be honest lol these SUVs are not even made for the muddy terrain, river crossing lovers.

Suv's like these are more into on road performance and I doubt people buying a fx buy them thinking they'll "destroy that badass challenger 2 tank" offroading -.-

Actually no. The stiff sway bar reduces the suspension flex to nearly nothing. The FX also has no way of locking anything(diff, t/case, etc).

My Grand Cherokee can lock the t/case, as well as the front and rear axles. The suspension travel is also greater than that of the landrover.

FX was designed for the street, not the dirt.

Dude i want you to go buy a FX50 and go offroading in it.

i did about 3 weeks ago in my moms FX50 sport and it only made it threw a few rocks once we hit mud ugh it was horrible. i mean it was embarrassing but hey its not meant for that we had a touareg pull us out of almost everything we got into but the touareg can lock its diffs and if needed can transfer all its power to one wheel while the FX50 cant do any of that.
