  • Not a Christians are like that we celebrate regardless presents or not its about bring together and celebrating the birth of christ

  • the countdown begins 3 mnths and 3 days away

  • When i was in the 5th grade I ask this girl about Christmas and she said i'm not celebrating Christmas this year. and i say why? and she said we can't afford it!

I'm like why do christens say Christmas is all about spending, shopping, and money your all acting like Jesus said forget about me and God and think about the money? like what the heck I heard a christian say that to me.

  • @Dasioux77777 then that person was a idiot dont blame all christians for what SOME of them do

  • Great comments guys, I agree with the statement that Families are'nt celebratting the true reason for Christmas, Jesus.

  • youu guys do know that this is a commercial for wal-mart riqhtt?.(;*

  • yes this is 2009. I barf in my mouth every time i see it

  • Why?

  • "Christmas costs less at Wal-Mart" Christmas cost Jesus Christ his life, and God His one and only Son. It was very costly.

Along comes Wal-Mart, eager to have you forget about what Christmas is really about - Christ - and have you empty your wallets into their tills. It's pretty deceitful when you think about it. Christmas doesn't have to cost you any money at all, yet you give in to sales pressure and spend spend spend.

  • I thought Easter cost Jesus his life...

  • You can't have Easter without Christmas...

  • Where have you been the last 5,000 years?

  • First off, Christmas didn't COST Jesus his life, He GAVE his life to us, for us.

And about 'emptying your wallets'. It depends on what your doing it for. If you're doing it for some unfortunate person, Empty away. On second thought, Give them the whole wallet if they need it.

Christmas if not about money or whether you get gifts or whether you do get gifts or even if you spent every thing you have in Wal-Mart, Its about what Jesus did and wants us to do: spread Love, Joy and happyness.

  • um, you seem to be missing my entire point, which is exactly as you say - that Christmas is about Jesus.

Yes He gave His life - but is that not costly? My issue, which you missed, is that Wal-Mart, and the world are working hard to make people forget about Jesus, or to at least reduce Him to the obligatory story we tell once a year before we open presents - Presents are the main focus of Christmas, even among many Christian homes. We are reminded how few shopping days remain before Christmas,

  • because the idea needs to be drilled into our brains that Christmas is about shopping, and not Jesus.

The enemy is hard at work this season, and it makes me so angry to see the true meaning of Christmas being mocked by the triviality and futility that is Christmas shopping

  • First, Yes it was costly. VERY COSTLY. But Jesus did not think about the cost, He thought about what was the result, Us Free from sin.

Secondly, Christmas will always be about Jesus. The enemy and try as hard as they can to hinder, witch the Bible says they are going to do, No one is going to forget Jesus or think of him as a obligatory story.

Oh and one more thing, When you've been to every REAL christian home, then we can talk

  • @5209memo so your saying when Jesus died he said to forget about him and God and think about the money? lol

  • I'm atheist and I still celebrate Christmas. I mean, the pagans celebreated the solstice around this time and then the Catholic church came around and was like "Oh, hey... we want to convert you. But we'll have this HUGE holiday conveniently close to the solstice to ease the transition and quell your complaints.

And now people use it as an excuse to stimulate the economy AND spend time with their families. Just like Thanksgiving, except with gifts. Channakuh is also around the same time.

  • and i'll totally give you that Christmas had pagan beginnings - but no one celebrates solstice today. The meaning of the day has been replaced with that of the birth of Christ.

You don't celebrate Hanukkah, do you? or Ramadan? So why has this secular celebration of presents been attached with a Christian celebration?

  • So "no one" celebrates the solstice... But then again "no one" celebrates Christ's birthday anymore.

And the secular gift givings? Because is the same time of the year, and its holidays (at least Channakuh, I don't think Ramadan deals with presents, not to mention its usually earlier in the year..) And its only been replaced with "Jesus Christ" in some parts of the world.

Christmas as become and IS a social holiday more than anything now. Just like Halloween, which used to be Pagan, is now

  • for fun. You see, YOU can celebrate Christ-mas, but most of the world either celebrates Christmas, or something else.

I mean, times and culture change...

  • And we both know Judaism doesn't believe in Jesus as God's son. Just saying...

  • yes, this is for 2009. That Optimus Prime the kid got only came out this year with the movie.
