  • Great video and thanks for the sub. I subbed you back. I'm looking forward to seeing how you turn the rubber lined keg into a fermenter, as I have one of those and I'm not sure what to do with it. Thanks!

  • @americanbeertv Sorry for the late reply .... just remove the center tubing and clean the inside, then use a 2 1/2" rubber stopper with a hole in it to add your airlock ~ instant fermenter... also great for mash...

  • That looks like so much work. How long did it take for you to get it right? That is a great set up ? I would love to try it could you use 1 keg Really how much did that keg cost ?shipping? Great video can a girl make it/

  • @YoungShrill Hey thanks so much for the comments and sure a girl can make it. I wanted to show how I did it from start to finish, the 2nd one was easier and they got easier each time, my system is in boxes right now until I move but I will have it up and running soon.I wish you luck remember you cant mess up it just a pot. You can fine these kegs on Craigslist from 25 to 45 bucks don't pay no more than that just keep watching and they pop up all the time. If you have any questions just text me

  • I wanted to thank you for putting together this excellent series. Its going to help me a ton in my efforts. I was scared to take on cutting the kegs and putting in my own valves but having seen you do it I feel more confident. Thank you again!!!!!

  • cool thanks for your reply!

  • hello, should i only use a stainless steal keg as a brew pot and do you know how much they cost? thanks for your time!

  • Copper or stainless steel so you wont have the nasty taste and a clean brew.

  • @emoneyblue - there's nothing wrong with aluminum, except that it isn't as durable as SS.

But you can always find a few old, battered SS kegs on craigslist that are ripe for cutting up

  • @OPE08 I know I have gotten about 6 in the last year from there.... Thanks

  • @gbluesrocker I recently read that aluminum is actually o.k. to use, tho it could in theory affect the taste of your beer, if its too old and worn, so beware if it's old and beat up

  • @gbluesrocker

This myth got its start a number of years ago when medical researchers found elevated levels of aluminum in diseased tissue from the brains of Alzheimer's patients (dead ones, I hope). One logical possibility (but not the only one) was that the raised aluminum level was responsible for causing the disease.
