  • @doveypink The viewfinder is not wysiwig, like the LCD screen on a digital camera. It's a little window that sits over the lens, so the photos won't have the lens in it. There may be some slack in the film, so it may take a few photos before the winder knob starts turning.

  • hi kai,

when I was surfing on the lomography web site I found out that there are 2 holga 135 models available: Holga 135 BC and Holga 135. Can you tell me the difference between these two models? thanks!

  • @xXRabbitmanXx The cameras are identical with the only difference being that the BC model has a built in vignette mask to create the darkened corners (black corners or burnt corners... BC) to emulate the vignetting in the Holga 120 camera. So the thing you have to decide is, do you want vignettes corners?

  • oh okay, thankyou!

  • with this film (35mm) can you get single images on single prints? or is the like film just printed and have to be scanned if you want the images? or whatever you do with the prints with the sprocket hole things?

  • @rawrrawrrawr31 With the Holga 135, it shoots standard 35mm images, it can be processed at 1-hour lab. It doesn't do sprockets. For sprockets, you need to shoot 35mm film in a Holga 120 camera, or a Lomography Sprocket Rocket, and will need to find a lab that can print or scan your sprockets.

  • i came here to see if my new holga 153bc was the only with that weird square aperture LOL

  • @rick92rr If you have a square aperture, you camera is the slightly older defective model. The newer ones have 2 true apertures. See my video on the Holga Aperture Defect. The lack of the second aperture will only limit your camera's abilities very slightly. I haven't missed it too much on my older Holgas.

  • i heard it was burnt corners for 'BC'

  • which one is better, 135 normal or 135BC?

  • @sk8erpinky When comparing the 135 to the 135BC, it's not a matter of better, just of what sort of image you prefer. If you would like to have the darkened, vignetted corners in your images like the Holga 120 images, then the 135BC is your camera.

  • do u know if the lomo leather case for th diana would fit the holga135bc?

  • @pinkispimp520 I don't know if the Lomo case would fit the 135bc. They are about the same size, but I'm not sure.

  • Does this rip film much like the diana mini?

  • @hellolauratube I have less winding trouble with my Holga 135 than I do with the Mini. It seems less twitchy to me, but that may have to do with the fact that the Mini has to be able to switch from half frame to full frame.

  • diana mini or holga 135????

  • @NewGameMultimedia I think the Holga 135 is easier to handle than the Diana Mini, and I like the sharper images it produces. I find that my Mini's images, are a bit too soft.

  • @NewGameMultimedia Currently, I prefer the Holga 135 over the Mini. I have fewer problems with it.

  • hi i was wondering if theres a way to change the lens on a Holga 135?

  • @kernsss Yes, you can get accessory lenses that work with the Holga 135. Go to the fourcornerstoreDOTcom -= replace the DOT with a .

  • Holga 135BC or Black Slim Devil? :P

  • @uriel8 I like both. The BSD is very simple to use, and I love the super wide angle lens, but the ability of the 135BC to use a flash, and also get accessory lenses make it more flexible.

  • can anyone who knows about the diana mini and holga 35mm tell me which one is better fr a first camera. I never used anything but a regular digital camera but now i want a 35mm camera, which is best?

  • @tonyo7 I like recommending the Holga 135 for a beginner camera. It is less tempermental that the DIana Mini.

  • Dear kaituba... what is the difference between holga 135BC and holga 135 BC TLR camera? what does TLR effects? tq

  • Does it make that shutter noise when you take a picture?

  • For a beginner with lomography, would you suggest the Holga 135BC, Holga 135, Holga 120 or Holga 120 Wide?

  • @DIYTx For beginners, I recommend the Holga 135 or 135bc. 35mm film is a good place to get started with film photography.

  • Kai, the videos are very helpful; thank you. Do you know if the aperature defect has been corrected on the Holga 135? I know they did for the 120. Thanks!

  • @petethebikeraz I believe they have put the new aperture in the entire line of cameras. There still seems to be some of the older cameras in the pipeline. I've been getting reports of people receiving the older model cameras.

  • Hi. I've decided to get this camera since I'm just a beginner. Anyway, is it a must to use ISO400 ? Can I use ISO 200 instead for a bright and normal day and use it with flash on a cloudy day or during the night time ? Also, for the Bulb setting, I don't have to use a flash when I use that setting right ? And must I use up a roll of film at once ? Can I take a few pictures on one day and some a few days later before developing ? Sorry for asking so many questions

  • where did you buy your camera?

  • @chilidog1001 I got my camera from Freestyle Photo Supply.

  • Hi, Kai. Good day to you.

Does the 135bc produce vignetting? What is the difference between the 135bc and the 120N picture quality? Thanks for the help.

  • can we change the lens on this holga 135 bc?

  • The lens is not interchangeable, but there is an accessory fisheye lens that mounts on the front.

  • so there's no difference between the two apertures? that sucks!

  • Theres A Different If You Mod It. I Mod It And Now I Can Use The Two Apertures. Hehe!

  • @shinieroygunns Why Are You Capitalizing Every Word. It Is Very Annoying

  • I just bought one of these from Ebay and have 5 rolls of film waiting to be used. I'm totally tickled!

  • tickled?

  • thanks for the video, I just purchased a Holga 135 bc I am so excited to start shooting! Thanks again!

  • cool videos, kai. this is gonna sound strange, but they're very calming... LOL

i'd like your recommendation. i'm about to buy my very first holga to take with me on a trip to japan and croatia as my "fun camera." i like the convenience of 35mm film, but does the holga 135 take equally fun pictures as the holga 120? thanks so much.

  • in my opinion only with the sprocket-hole type shots, which result from scanning the entire 35mm negative, including the sprocket holes. this can easily be done by nicely asking a shop to scan them on (if they have one) a 120 film scanner, and putting them on a cd for a few extra bucks. search flickr for sprocket hole tags.

the only downside is the fact that the rectangular negatives aren't as large, so fairly blown up prints won't look as nice as they will on the square 120 film. no big deal

  • I haven't seen anyone try this, but I don't see why you couldn't. It might give you some interesting results.

  • is it possible to use home made masks like i can on a 120cfn with 35mm and also reshoot on the same film? basically rewinding and putting the same film back in and turning over the mask to expose and shoot those areas of the film that were previously masked?

  • I have none specifically for the 135, but the filter mod I showed for the Holga 120 also works for the 135. Show the sprockets? Hmmm.... maybe if we cut away the mask. Let's take a look.

  • yeah i was wondering if you could take its mask away. im a diana f+ guy myself but i just cant find a 35mm back here in the philippines. so im kinda just thinkin if id get a holga 135 instead

  • do you have any mods for the holga 135? how can i show the sprockets for the 135?

  • What's the difference between holga 120 and holga 135?

  • The difference is in the film they take. The Holga 120 uses 120 medium format film and the Holga 135 uses 35mm film.

  • Thanks

  • do you have sample pics using this camera?

  • I haven't had a chance to run much film through this camera yet. Go to Flickr and do a search for the Holga 135 group. They have lots of good photo samples there.

  • kai, what is the cheapest best film i can use for the camera. i just received my camera yesterday. btw, its sunny outside and i have 400ISO film already in it..if i shoot outside, its gonna blow out the images right?

  • You should be fine with the ISO 400 film. If it is really bright, it might blow out the highlights some, but there are strategies for getting around it. You can use a neutral density filter to cut down the amount of light getting to the film. Check out the Holga filter adapter video. The same 46-49mm step up ring works on the Holga 135. The best film? Any film from the major film makers will work fine. Cheapest if you buy it online. Check out Freestyle photo supply.

  • I have the same camera!

  • is it a good camera? i'm planning to buy one. thanks

  • I am still testing out the camera. I'll post results on my website when I get them.

  • Yes, the Holga 135 is a 35mm camera, I'll add 35mm to the title to make that clear.

  • can you use 35mm film with that?

  • yes its made for 35mm

  • cool, first comment
