If the lioness bit the child's fingers, the lioness would have been killed for doing what comes natural to her. The parents have a responsibility to care for their children--some parents that are blessed with children should never have been allowed to give birth to any child. It's a shamed that parents that are more responsible can't have any children, while irresponsible people like this child's parents seems to be overflowing with kids.
I recall people calling Michael Jackson every name in the book for dangling one of his kids out the window. This video is far worse. Why the hell would a parent post this just to get YouTube views? I can't believe that the authorities sees this video, and they don't find the parents and arrest them.
@shorwaqueen Are you kidding? its quite normal for electric fencing in this situation, especially on farms for cattle and sheep etc. Even in commercial premises they use electric fencing to keep out burglars - high voltage and low amperage means they get a momentary pulse of shock but not enough to harm. Like a very low power tazer! see gallagher co nz/Gallagher-on-farm/Power-Fence-systems.aspx and enlighten yourself. The animals learn not to touch the fence.
we filmed this in NZ- just a 'local' family, I don't think the risk of getting bitten was high- you can see there is an electrified fence running the perimeter just inside the mesh fence that the girl is holding. Lucky for the girl, I'd say the lioness is too scared of the electric fence to get closer. But yeah, in the end, pretty below average parenting!
Would have taken no effort for that lion to rip off a couple of her finger's.. Glad it didn't but if it did i hope those parent's shoot themselves because it would have been there fault not the Lion's.

If anything happened, the parents would blame the zoo or have the lioness shot instead of admitting their own stupidity.
