It's good to listen to the original again. This version is just...grating & sad compared to the joyful-hearted carefree energy & sound of this song. For me, it's not even really about the accent. It's about a beautiful, free-flowing, babbling-brook, simply recorded song being imitated with fame, plastic, digital remastering and strong lights for the purpose of profit rather than art. The spirit of the original is lost in all of the computer editing, the $5,000 dress, the exaggerated acting...

@TexianPride I believe Reese is originally from Nashville, TN. I'm not from the South, but I thought maybe because of that her Southern accent was accurate. But I guess to Southern ears it sounds fake? Just asking.

She did her best of course and thats all she could do.

But her accent was off, though Ive heard that its difficult to do a fake southern accent.

For what its worth she did well, just a bit off and it was kind of offensive kind of mocking almost.

Maybe its hard to pick up on if your not from the south, Ive though some New York accents were close in movies only to find they were way off lol
