I understand why the referee called that an offside. If you watch carefully, it looks like it was played again by the attacker after it was kicked as you see a kicking motion. If that attacker theoretically touched the ball, the last attacker would theoretically be offside however, it was not touched after it was initially played.

Guys,it's just a fast attacking development..The player is NOT in an offside position for only 0.5 second,it is too easy for anyone to make this mistake.Just notice that the player who covers him(the one on the left side) does the exact opposite movement that the attacker does.In real time,this is happening in 0.5 second max!

It is a mistake but surely an excusable one!

other things they could do...no offside on free kicks. No offside if the ball is not kicked to the player. No offside if the defensive player tries to trap a player. The rule was made to avoid players waiting near the other team's goal, not so that teams could all step forward at once and force players into an offside position.

The offside rule should be abandoned. There is no offside in Futsal, Brazileño (7s), Futbol rápido or any of the other forms of football. The rule was made over 100 years ago. Linesmen fuck it up all the time. The players are so quick, the ball is much better, they aren't playing in rain soaked mud bogs in England anymore.

@mapache11 referee error is no reason to abandon a rule. the rule is as old as football to prevent goal hanging. it's fundamental to football no matter how much it doesn't make sense to someone new to football

@tjohn1986 ...the rule is antiquated. The players are faster, the passing is far more accurate now bewcause the ball is not the same. Simple solutions to the problem of officials connstantly fucking up would be to imbed a chip in the ball and one in the shorts of each player; give each team two challenges per game. An official in a booth would review the play. If he could not decide within one minute the call stands. If you challenge and are worng, a player is sent off.
