I remember this move..so crudey..dude was looking like a mix between Luther and Freddie Jackson lol but they did a hell of a job Mockey the New Jack "GoGo" Swing
ooh , used 2 sweat this song... i never seen the video tho. i had the rmx'z of the 2nd single they had out. dude & the baccground r "GUY" JACC'Z(LOL)!1
Yeah Gene was a crook. This CD was pretty good it sounded canny even then but it had some fire on it. Kenny was a better vocalist than Aaron though because Aaron without Teddy's input was very look warm.
Song's good, it's cool I guess. But man....the way they kept stressin how fine the lady is, the lady in this video is NOT all that! I mean, she's not ugly at all. She has a nice body too. But I was just expecting more I guess.
HERE'S A LITTLE TRIVIA YOU TUBERS! How many of you know that this group was formed by Gene Griffin to replace Guy and steal Teddy Riley's New Jack Swing sound? Gene Griffin was the other half of GR Productions with Teddy Riley (KING OF THE NEW JACK SWING). Teddy and Guy sued Gene Griffin for stealing millions of dollars from them (mostly Teddy). He was taking credit for writing and producing music that he had nothing to do with. The lead singer was made to sound just like Aaron Hall!
@Lescambro you make a good point. i was just wondering, on Guy's debut album, the beats were insane and production credits go to both Griffin and Riley. did they have an equal amount of participation or did one work harder than the other. if that's not known that can we really know who is king of swing. of course credits will go more to Riley bcuz he was Guy and blackstreet's frontman and he's well more known.

@Lescambro Thanks for the background on what happened....never heard the whole story...I knew at one point you always saw that Gene Geffen dude in Guy videos...and then never again. I knew there had to be some type of beef but this clears it up. Did Teddy end up getting any money back?
@Lescambro - yeah they're from Columbus, GA. One of these cats is a Kappa (Kevin?) and they used to come through Auburn University (AL) and party in the early 90s. "Nothin' But A Party" was the party anthem for a quick minute.
@Lescambro yep he did sound like him did a good job too, one of the guys in the group Zan aquart (aka zan the man) was a producer and co writer that worked with Teddy and Gene when they cool don't know how credit he got thou, I beleive he is the cat with shades on the keys.
OMG! This is my cousin singing lead! Darrell! Where the heck are you boy!? LOL I was a kid when they were in this GROUP! He is still working... He does a lot of vocals for Justin Timberlake and the likes now. Wow, this really took me BACK!
Loved this song back in the day....still do...Sad that Gene Griffin was biting Teddy Riley's jock so damn hard... This group was hot but no comparison to GUY. Teddy, Aaron, and Damien were that thang.....
@Kelnnc818 That's right Kelnnc818! Gene Griffin wanted to be the King of the New Jack Swing so bad that he used Basic Black to steal Guy's sound and image. Notice that the lead singer sounds just like Aaron (well similar...he couldn't touch Aaron). I got sucked in and bought this album because I thought this was a Teddy Riley production. I was so disappointed to discover the deceitfulness of Gene Griffin. I am so glad he got sued and had to pay Teddy and Guy millions of dollars! Yea Teddy!
New Jack forever!! By the way a few years later lead singer Darryl Dezo Adams and group member Walter Mucho Scott formed the group 911, known for their song "Cutie".
