Rules are rules, there's nothing wrong with telling someone to follow them.
And there's nothing wrong with showing people what they will have to deal with if they take a job at Wal-Mart.

I'm an associate. There is a 800 number automated process as was mentioned, so that part is correct; but the member(s) of management are hardly behaving in a procedural fashion. For one thing, it is strange that the member of management seemed to suddenly conjure up one or two other managers with him. That makes it seem that the call was put on speaker phone in the mgmt office (wierd). Anyway, the random bout of manager anger is ridiculous; he should have terminated the call much earlier on.

@acesn8s70 When I worked at walmart, I witnessed them make a pregnant ringer stay on her line without the restroom break she requested for so long, she actually ended up messing herself. And they did it to an older lady too, that probably suffers from incontinency. I know this beacause she came to the jewlery counter to buy new pants and underwear when they did finally let her go on break. I'm calling your walmart to complain like lickeypops suggested if you'd like me to.

As far as I'm concerned, as a Wal-Mart employee, the manager did the right thing. The 800 # needs to be called beforehand or else it's a no call no show. As for the prank, I thought it was stupid. Believe it or not, managers at Wal-Mart are busy as hell and don't have time to be dickin around with prank calls. Get a LIFE or a JOB to take up your free time!

@brackenan Oh, it's comments like yours that I enjoy responding to. First of all, you're taking this far too seriously. Secondly, I have since gone into that particular Wal-Mart location and introduced myself to the manager that took the call. I was warmly greeted and he told me that this call has been heard by numerous employees at the store and that they consider it to be very entertaining. That being said, it was all done in fun and it was well received. Get over it.

brackenan Calling the 800# is fucking pointless.All it does make you play phone games and THEN you get to talk to a manager, which you could easily have done if you just call the damn store and tell the manager you'd speak to ANYWAY about you not being there. I fail to see any logic in "it's a no-call no-show if you don't call the 800 line first". Obviously you fucking called if you have to speak to a manager and tell them you are sick, regardless whether you played push buttons for ten minutes

@inyurossy Lol! Yeah that pretty much sums up the managers at my store. This one manager I have walks like Charlie Chaplin and is dumb as hell. He thinks he's sooo cool. I guess I never really noticed how lazy they are until just the other day when I went into the office I saw the assistant manager and the support manager looking up pictures of goofy people on the internet and laughing about them.

You call the 800 number, give the computer, your Birthdate, your last 4 digits of your Social, the store number, and they give you a conformation number. they transfer you to your store, and you tell a member of mang. your conformation number.

I'm an associate. There is a 800 number automated process as was mentioned, so that part is correct; but the member(s) of management are hardly behaving in a procedural fashion. For one thing, it is strange that the member of management seemed to suddenly conjure up one or two other managers with him. That makes it seem that the call was put on speaker phone in the mgmt office (wierd). Anyway, the random bout of manager anger is ridiculous; he should have terminated the call much earlier on.
