As for those who have questions about the real Billy the Kid, might I suggest reading The Saga of Billy the Kid written by Walter Noble Burns, it's informative with real accounts from people who were actually associated with the famous outlaw. I don't think you will be disappointed if you read it, great book!!

When they made these movies, they took the 6 youngest actors that could still actually act in hollywood and put 'em in a rowdy, insanley awsome action movie.

Chavez really existed but dirty steve stevens not because it is based on a fictional folk tale character in western novels; If you want to see the real chavez see the special features for more info - Thanks dude this is a great tribute to a great character and a movie who emphasizes the real life of billy but one thing is not real and is the group (the real were 80) 20 beside Billy and the other and another 20 in the other block of the town at the real final shootout.
