@FluffyWarthog The DPRK is officially atheist dude. They execute religious people. Most people in the DPRK don't even know that religion is part of modernity. Stalinism and Juche isn't anything like religion.
@PrimeConsciousness Well the bullshit they teach children in North Korea isnt all that much different than what they teach in religious/Catholic schools in America...basically how to believe in lies that arn't true whether it be religion or the "superiority" of Communism.
American education is funny, i mean everybody makes fun of American education when they come to Europe, Americans cant say anything smart there, just dump as asses.
i have subtitles in plain american engrish. you can quote me on this. quote " remember everything i am teaching you kiddies. if i do not teach you this there are two guys on the other side of this wall with AK-47's hearing everything i am or not doing and saying. My life depends on me brainwashing you, because if i dont they will take me outside and pump me full of lead. remember the song communist barney makes us sing in front of AK-47's, i mean cameras" and end quote.
@Lucasimo Democracy is all about brainwashing too. Just read "Propaganda" by Edward Bernays. He was Freud's nephew, so he knew how to get inside people's heads and make them happy and docile. It destroyed my belief in Western democracy.
@HelenaXVI - Yeah - I guess in reality, there is no true democracy in the world. At least in the UK, a healthy proportion of the media actively question and debate what the state feeds us.
No one claims democracy is perfect. I live in a democratic nation and that democracy enables press freedom. Press freedom allows vile tabloids to promote their rubbish. But there is no comparison between democracy and totalitarianism. I can openly criticise David Cameron and know that I can go to bed safely at night. I think it is insulting to try and compare totalitarianism, especially a regime as brutal as North Korea to democracy- even flawed democracy.

The only children who get to go to schools in or live in Pyongyang are children of political leaders. The rest live in poor towns and fight everyday for their lives while being forced to do well in school or be killed. Healthy looking children are taken away from their parents and brought to places like the "children's Palace" in Pyonyang where they are forced to sing and dance for tourists. This happens to ALL multiples like twins or triplets.
@dan08231984 Hey asshole, please learn to write and read before you use a keyboard. I hope Kim Jong Il dies soon. And that his son is less of a scumbag than he is (though I wouldn't hold my breath.) Where the fuck do you get "my" "wannabe communist state" from?
Sh--,when will they learn?????? The losing governmental stuff. In America they have public schools where kids are taught how great and beautiful the government is, whereas I'm getting slowly brainwashed here. I love North Korea,
Lesson 3: How to say the North Korean leader is great.
Lesson 4: How to say Obama is great using the 'kick God outta the public school system' ploy then see where we go from there.
Well there's an abstract and probably unbelievable thing, in which it gets to a point where it's obvious. Human's need a power higher than themselves.
"Kim Il Sung" is revered as a god in North Korea's national religion. It's just a means of control, it logically is no different from the most prominent religions, except with their ideals.
wow.. are you serious? only a very few select kids get to be taught in the nice classrooms like this. mainly those children of state workers. they make these videos with professional actors to make north korea seem like a wonderful country, which it's not.
@TheMudrat also, when reporters from different countries want to interview them, they use these children, so they look like they are in a wonderful place -_- brainwash brainwash, gotta stop these stuff!
By the way, it gives me chill when i see that books for childern and popaganda illustrations - i found about 40 years old reading book of my father he had when he was on elementary school. The same shit, but it got mostly our old communist party leader and stalin. Huh. Not even 50 years ago, in central europe. World is so dangerous place to live :)
sorry bro, but that is bullshit words from mouth of someone who does know shit about the world.
Politics isnt charity. Nobody say things are allways just black and white. But before one starts throwing shit on something, he should consider boths sides of the problem, not just his favorite "fuuu USA fuuck oil capitalism murder etc etc" wiew.

They sound like that beacuse they are so happy under the care of the Great Loving Leader. Soon they´ll be down in the cole-mines, and will they smile? Oh yes, they will smile, and they will sing and rejoice in dance and celebration.
I am not a supporter of communism at all, but I'll give the N. Koreans this: they are taught from a very early age to look out for one another, to make their North Korean society strong; here, all our society cares about is celebrity worship, materialism, and the pursuit of impossible dreams. I sometimes wonder which side truly is better off.
That is a good point, I'll give you that; both societies have thier good points and bad points I guess. One thing though that non-communist societies don't do however is mistreat those who disagree with "the system", per say.
Like in the US, you can talk about the government like a dog if you don't appreciate it, and you won't be put to jail. Now, of course in North Korea...
@BigTMan1 I'll tell ya what, why don't you ask the 22 year old born in a North Korean concentration camp who knew nothing about the outside world, saw his mother killed for trying to escape, and has scars covering his body from torture "which side is truly better off."
WOW! North Korea seems like a pretty nice place. Now that we have a socialist as a President, perhaps we can become more like the great Republic of North Korea. It seems as if the news media is doing it's part.
no. he was born in Russia's small village and he had a twin brother, but his bro was drowned when he was really young. So, children are brainwashed by totally wrong fake fantasy novel which is created by Communists

you know looking back at what korea has done to keep themselves independant and united from china and others it's just sad they couldnt simply become one great country like their great leaders intended instead of two countries that hate eachothers guts
Wow, the teacher there bows back when the students bow...
Over here, where I stay, the teaches treat students like shits. They think its their dammed right to yell and boss every student around. Some of them can't even teach =/
people think this is actually how a school day goes...its so tottally diffrent. Alot of kids in Korea dont even go to school. o these kids are actually lucky they can even be in the classroom with a forigner (I forgot how to speel it).
Hundreds of North koreans defect to china. if u visit chinese cities bordering north korea, u'll find lots of north koreans there. Even the signboards are north korean language.
Notice that not a single child in this entire film is looking at the camera, like they are all intentionally avoiding it, that's not normal...
Look at the girl (dressed in black and white) to the far right at 4:27, see how her head is turned to the left more than the other children, like she is afraid of pointing her head towards the camera...
Notice also how none of them is smiling...
I wonder what kind of "instructing" happens behind the scenes...
fucking cunt teacher. when communist take over they throw out the educated right winged or non communist, and replace it with communist whore teachers like her.
haha i am a canadian. so i poked a hole there. and "fat pig" makes it think you calling me a capitalist. even though i am a natyional socialist. so now shoot yourself in hopes a brain might spark through you.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
national socialists are not nazis. they posed as national socialists because national socialists is so much better. obama is a communist agent but he poses as a regular liberal.
Nazism is short for Nationalsozialismus, an ideology created by the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (German National Socialist workers party). But the words actually meant something. The nazi party worked for collectivism, and opposed economic and political liberalism.
There where still entreprenuers, but common folk worked together for the state and got equal sallary - and government funded cars - VW (lit. Peoples Car) but at the same time they were anticommies. truly screwed up
I don't buy that Nazi = Nationalsozialismus muck. The natural abbreviation for Nationalsozialismus would be NASO. I think they got Nazi from the word Ashkenazi, which is jiddish for German (jew).
and you know what is funnier about you songunblog? you want me to take your end without question. i keep telling you to look at the video children of the secret state, the executions of hoeryong, "liberty in north korea" and a few others all found on youtube. but you refuse to look there because you know there i can see for myself that the NK is clearly shooting people and people are dying in a famine and kim jong il does nothing about it.
That's interesting. I've been learning about Japan recently in one of my classes, particularly Japan's imperial policies against China and Korea throughout the 20th century. Tell me more that you know about Japanese historical revisionism and educational indoctrination, I'm interested,
Is this the North Korean version of "Romper Room"? I half expected the Do-Bee and Don't-Bee to step out and tell the kids how to be good followers of the "Dear Leader" (though what they might use for Romper Stompers gives me pause).
And what's up with THOSE STUPID DIORAMAS IN EVERY NK KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM?!?
that style of teaching might seem foreign, but think about our history textbooks, it stimulates the patriotism in the class, even though this happens subtlely. the books and teachers ingrain in our head that democracy and capitalism are the greatest, those-slave holders or not-who fought for this cause are to be justified. So, who are the happier ones: the kids in the video or american kids? since they and we have been taught to value different things, this, I believe, cannot be compared.
I remember I was taught in a similar way in a polish kindergarden.
No one of us understood political issues we were taught.
In school you had to say what teachers wanted to hear to get good opinion. The intelligent kids understood that fast. Different is kind of intelligence that is being forced at school. In Germany it was the individual personality and how to have success and how to cooperate. In Pol it was how to use the system to perform on your own agains the others who are your enemies.
But it doesn't have to be that way for younger people... If the minimum wage was better and companies would treat their employees better (or if the gov't would force the companies to give employees simple things like healthcare) a job might seem like a good thing to the young people in this country.
Yes- in NY you would need that kind of workweek. I can't imagine what the cost of living is there. I would also look at what people earn in jobs in the EU- in Germany and Belgium for example. I'm in Louisville, Kentucky. Don't laugh, we still have more brownstone houses than NY City. The brownstones are right next to the monument to the soldiers who died in the civil war... from the south!
The system is set up for the poor to fail, on average. Trust me, those kids don't want to be in those police cars! Give them an alternative to selling drugs or flipping burgers at Wendy's- which do you think they get more respect from? Sure, blame the parents, but blame the 70 hour work week that keeps the parents from seeing their kids.
The spoiled ones usually aren't the ones who end up in prison- its the kids who grow up tough with nothing in the ghettos. That's the beauty of the American system, but the hard part about it as well... The struggle to fight the good fight is what has made many great Americans who they were.
Such a cute video. Probably I feel most sympathetic to the North when I remember that North Korea does not allow corporal punishment in schools, but "democratic" South Korea beats and bruises teenage students' butts with canes. I know people will deny it, but will anyone admit this is one way South Korea needs to learn from the North (and from European countries by the way!)
Why do people come in here and just complain about the North? I'm grateful the uploader decided to share these things with us - a window into the country, so to speak.
The most repugnant thing is, everyone comes in here and bashes the North Korean system and style of government. That's regrettable, we should never judge another people's way of life based on the values of our own.
Be obient and your recompense will be respect and success. A world where person work without debating everyday to make his justice, is a world where everybody respecting each other. Do what you have to do and he'll do the rest. Kim Jong-Il do what it needed to make people comfortable, the only thing that you have to do is to work to accomplish the greatest work, grow healty and be friendly with your comrade.
Nortk Korea = Juche/despotism/totalitarianism/authoritarianism. Not Communism. People who think these are theoretically related should go onto Wikipedia and have a good look.

you know looking back at what korea has done to keep themselves independant and united from china and others it's just sad they couldnt simply become one great country like their great leaders intended instead of two countries that hate eachothers guts

Wow, the teacher there bows back when the students bow...
Over here, where I stay, the teaches treat students like shits. They think its their dammed right to yell and boss every student around. Some of them can't even teach =/

I wonder what kind of "instructing" happens behind the scenes...

national socialists are not nazis. they posed as national socialists because national socialists is so much better. obama is a communist agent but he poses as a regular liberal.
ultradumbass 3 years ago
1. Obama is not even close to socialist unfortanetly. He completely supports the evils of capitalism and big business.
2. How are nazis not national socialists? both believe that they are the superior race to others. arent NatSoc fascist?
Hmsheen10 3 years ago 5
1. being to the right is good. (oh and this is being said by one of the poorest individuals in north america.)
2. fascism is an extremist form of capitalism and national socialism is a more conservative approach to socialism.

Peoples Car) but at the same time they were anticommies. truly screwed up
VoxSweden 2 years ago
I don't buy that Nazi = Nationalsozialismus muck. The natural abbreviation for Nationalsozialismus would be NASO. I think they got Nazi from the word Ashkenazi, which is jiddish for German (jew).
joroma77 2 years ago
You must be american? Nazi is not an official abbreviation.. it started as just common slang.
VoxSweden 2 years ago
and you know what is funnier about you songunblog? you want me to take your end without question. i keep telling you to look at the video children of the secret state, the executions of hoeryong, "liberty in north korea" and a few others all found on youtube. but you refuse to look there because you know there i can see for myself that the NK is clearly shooting people and people are dying in a famine and kim jong il does nothing about it.

Is this the North Korean version of "Romper Room"? I half expected the Do-Bee and Don't-Bee to step out and tell the kids how to be good followers of the "Dear Leader" (though what they might use for Romper Stompers gives me pause).
And what's up with THOSE STUPID DIORAMAS IN EVERY NK KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM?!?
cjallen2 4 years ago 2
that style of teaching might seem foreign, but think about our history textbooks, it stimulates the patriotism in the class, even though this happens subtlely. the books and teachers ingrain in our head that democracy and capitalism are the greatest, those-slave holders or not-who fought for this cause are to be justified. So, who are the happier ones: the kids in the video or american kids? since they and we have been taught to value different things, this, I believe, cannot be compared.
tsetaerg 4 years ago
ditto
asparwhite86 4 years ago

The brownstones are right next to the monument to the soldiers who died in the civil war... from the south!
prunepower 4 years ago
The system is set up for the poor to fail, on average. Trust me, those kids don't want to be in those police cars! Give them an alternative to selling drugs or flipping burgers at Wendy's- which do you think they get more respect from? Sure, blame the parents, but blame the 70 hour work week that keeps the parents from seeing their kids.
prunepower 4 years ago
