By the way im not twelve thank you very much, and im sorry for calling you matt i was ment to say MAW(what a weird name)! By the way if your implying that you were opposite to them u must have been pretty bad! im not defending them coz i wasnt in this bit i only sung the beginning bit when he died!
@lilusers Those are my initials. Remember that time I said I wasn't looking for a fight and I was making a comment? Because you don't seem to. And, I never implied the opposite, I just said these storytellers look bored instead of angry, or sad, or whatever this sequence did to them. The ensemble in this show isn't just there to take up space, they're there as liaisons to the audience and it's hard for the audience to connect with people who don't look invested in their own story.
The storytellers just look so bored. I mean it's okay but there's no anger or sadness behind the song, and the final part (what I like to call the wasteland reprise) is just thrown away.
@maw467 oh by the way matt! there supposed to be like that, if you didnt know( probably coz you dont know what the difference is between acting or not!!!
@lilusers I'm not Matt, dunno who you're talking to. The leads did fine, the acting was pretty decent on them, but thank you very much I know how to tell the difference between real acting and faking it. And, I do know how the storytellers are supposed to be, I was a storyteller in this very show. I'm not looking for a fight, I was just making a comment, so before you go about seeking your twelve year old revenge on me, please reconsider.
Yup, the actor playing Father is doing nothing for me. He is coming off more as slightly irritated than in rage. This performance just totally destroyed this song.
Personal choice... but this is what the director wanted and actually came across very powerfully on stage (tho maybe not on this video of it). In fact the final version was toned down a lot as the actor for Cain used to collapse because of the intenseness of this scene
@IanSquared2 : I totally agree with you. There should have been a lot more physical interaction between Father and Cain. This was to candy coated for me.
