no, there are only 2 IMAX cameras in the whole world. IMAX cameras are VERY large, make so much noise that sound must be added later ,the film strip is 10 times larger than a normal one .

and a 5 min film in IMAX weights about 20Kg , and a IMAX projector weights about 2000Kg.

yes, the sensor suits did already exist. Cameron added the "face camera". now, not only motion and pose is captured, but expression as well. this means the actors are in FULL CONTROL of the navi model.

you need basically zero character animation, you could hook a computer to a suit, act a movie and then replace the actors with, say, orcs. and it would still look cool

You are completly wrong there, the face cam makes it only easy later for the artist to make the animation, there is always someone needing to clean the motion capture of the suits records. There is already for quite some time a webcam motion capture, you can download. The so called virtual camera is just a virtual bone connected to a script which later can be imported in maya or max to be connected to real aplication camera. The point is, as they always do good marketing huge hype about nothing.

@kiikat Harry Potter needs glasses cause he can't see without them, he's myopic, and the crystals used in lightsabers give them that colour. What do the Na'vi do that affects the them that way? Blue water? It's not even camouflage against the dark green and I highly doubt they're poisonous either, or Jake wouldn't be hunted down by the pack of dogs.This world of Na'vi is more suited to a video game more than a movie imo, there's not enough expansion in mere few hours.
